| Assalaam alaikum Where to start? Though I have been married to a Muslim man from Egypt for 22 years, I accepted Islam only two years ago. I am an American and though I believed in very much the same way as my husband, I felt that reversion to Islam would not be accepted by my family and friends, and that I wouldn't be able to live up to the challenge of being a Muslim. How wrong I was. Friends didn't bat an eye, and with the exception of my syblings (whom still feel this is just a phase, after all even at 44 I'm still the baby of the family), my nieces and nephews are happy that I'm happy. My husband and I have 4 children. Girls 19, 18 and 11 and a son 15. I'm very happy to be a part of this Madina community and thank my very special friend Kathy for inviting me. I look forward to getting to know everyone. Mary |

| slm Welcome to the board, and alhumdullilah that is wonderful to hear you accepted Islam. :) Just wondering, was there anything that made you realize to revert to Islam? |

| wlm Welcome Mary! It's great to have you on board. (pardon the pun..hee hee) Seriously though, mash Allah, finally you've made the right decision and taken Islam for *you* and not your relations. I reverted recently and I still have to break the news to my mother..She's an intelligent woman though..I'm hoping she'll see the logic in Islam Insha Allah! c.u. Eleanor |

| [slm] slm Welcome to the community Mary! Mary is a dear friend of mine. Treat her well!- now the board has 2 "old Ladies." Mary, I have been forbidden to tell cow jokes here- it is a long story... but many people really enjoy them. Ya got any? There is a moderator, we affectionately call her Den Mother (a nick name given to her by the Islamic Horizons magazine), who may try to threaten you if you do post a joke. So ya get one chance before she threatens you with her mafia so ... make it a good one. Humdil Allah- I am greatful to Allah swt that you have finally signed in! |

| slm, welcome aboard sr mary :) great to have you here... thats aweosme you embraced islam... mashallah for you :) and sr kathy's presence has raised the bar on coolness reqirements for the board, so you've got a lot to do to surpase her ;-D but anyway, enjoy your stay inshallah :) - the welcoming wagon ;-D |
