Aslam walakum
don't drink that water in Mecca, even by accident , even once, drink only zamzam, bottled and juice. Don't eat stuff that is sold on the street and looks like it is full of germs that will kill you.
I didn't listen to my advice and lost about 2-4 stones. the water in medina is ok, but zamzam, bottle and juice is still better.
when people are nice to you, they are doing it cause they are nice, they don't want any thing from you, it is a strange feeling for some one from the UK, cause here no one is nice except conmen who want to try steal from you. but be patient with nice people.
when people try to help you, they are trying to help you cause they are nice, they are not trying to get you in to a trap.
When people of the same sex hold your hand, that does not mean they are fags, it is common outside the west for men to touch each other, don't hit some one of the same sex when they touch you on a normal place.
when I was ill I asked this soldier where is the doctor, and he asked me if I was ill and held my hand and took me to a doctor, I felt really embarrassed, but it was ok,, no one was looking at us, cause there are no fags there.
The main thing you will find strange and unpleasant is the fact that people are nice, it takes a lot of getting used to.

thanks for the advice bro'. Unfortunately I grew up hearing nothing but stories of "untrustworthy Arabs" and would probably have had my reservations about taking help or advice from anyone who voluntarily offered it.
Insha Allah your advice will help me.
