Madina...where dream is lost in fantasy !

While sitting here, those who visited Madina should recall the wonderful scenes of Madina. Madina where dates bloom, Madina where different varieties of dates are brought together.
The feeling one gets on the first glimpse of the Green Dome while arriving at Madina is an incommunicable moment. Its glory is too wonderful for words to convey. It is a moment when the nerves get stuck with anxiety and the heart becomes restless. When the limbs become too weak for moving ahead. Who lay there at rest?
Even today one of the most expensive variety is the Ajwa dates. What is its specialty? It was held dear by the Rasool .
Madina is the place where wonders and mysteries are at rest. A great scholar writes in his book:

I saw Athens, I saw the Spartan cities, I visited Greek and Roman towns… and then I saw Madina... where even dream is seen lost in fantasy! Madina is where even 'dream' likes to let loose itself in fantasy.

What wonderful lines had Karamat Ali Shaheedi (an Urdu Poet who performed Hajj in 1205 A.H) composed during his Hajj journey before leaving for Madina:

O Rasool !

May I have a chance to see your resting place

May I hold my eyes close to the walls of Rawdha

I have a desire to see the Green Dome as well.

Even Isa and Musa (peace be upon them) may envy my state of love for you .

The Prophet  once said that 'had Musa been alive during my times, he would be forced to follow me'. Thus the poet has not mistaken in his desire.

'If anyone bears patiently the difficulties while visiting Madina, I shall intercede for him in the hereafter'.

A believer's heart is full of longing for Masjidul Harem, Hajj, Tawaf, Saee', the hills of Safa and Marwa and the city of Madina.

I am recollecting this incident as a blessing from Allah. When I was given permission by the  Saudi officials to stand close to Rawdha Shareef for some time… the springtime of life, the greatest fortune of lifetime… Muhammad Mustafa . When recalling that moment, I feel embarrassed that I didn't remain there for long. When I stood there, I felt I should not remain for long as the fellow brothers were longing in vain to get such a chance… such a great state for the station of love? How can one describe the intensity of love for the Prophet . I am mentioning this incident to provide wings for those desiring to visit Madina.

On the very first night of reaching Madina, I recall walking around simply the Green Dome. The Green Dome is shining with stars blinking above it in the sky. The Moon is also shining. The city of Madina has gone to sleep. But walking around sleeplessly, I remembered the story of Miraj: when the Holy Prophet  traveled above the stars and Moon. The stars waited in queue to greet the Beloved of Almighty  saying:

"Tehro tehro zara Ya Muhammad
Hamne jee bharke dekha nahi hai

Stop! Stop O Muhammad !
We haven't seen you our eyes full as yet.

Beparda huwa jab husn Huwa
Yusuf ne kaha Masha Allah!

O Prophet ! When your beauty was unveiled even Yusuf, the most handsome of all creations exclaimed: Masha Allah!

Ek mein hi nahi,
Is Jahan ke har peer o jawan phida hai!

It is not just me who's attracted to this wonder! Everyone, young and old alike, are humbled in front of this Beauty!

In this assembly where durood (reciting sallallahu alihi wa sallam) is fervently sounded, let me recall one more incident. There is a moment when one has to bid farewell to the Green Dome. It is the saddest moment in life. If there is thing called heart inside man, then it shall feel the pain of separation unable to leave this blessed city. As if some force is pulling us back...

A moment when the heart whispers: This city has my dearest Beloved. Where am I to go leaving my Beloved? Of what worth are my nation, family and livelihood? My Beloved is laying here: How can I leave Madina? . Rawdha is pulling us back by a thousand horsepower.

But man is forced to obey the laws of Allah. He has to return back home...
