Assalamu alaikum,

Sr. Bsrra, it is kinda hard to teach a language over email.  I speak Arabic, but I think the best way to learn is to physically attend a class ... you have to hear it to learn it. I wondar if there are 'teach youself Arabic' CDs or tapes ?  I think I've seen something like that in a bookstore. There must be something similar at Sound and Vision.  Check www.soundandvision.com.

wassalam

Assalamu Alaikum,

I agree that to learn a language its always better if u attend the class
physically. But with advanced technology, even in online courses you can learn Arabic
and hear the sound as well. Arab Academy offers online courses, which r
excellent. Here's their url:
www.arabacademy.com

And I think Witness Pioneer is planning to offer a FREE online Arabic course in
fall. I am not sure though, so plz ck with them.

Asalamalykum. I believe the best way to learn is through a one-on-one tutor. Even if you'll have to limit your daily provisions to a few dates and water to pay the expense, do it. No price is too much for learning the language of Allaah's noble book. Asalamalykum.

I agree with sis. Mona you can't learn Arabic proficiently without a teacher.  I am sure if you look you will be able to find a muslimah who speaks fushah and is willing to spare some time for you.

ps Sirat, lets not go overboard, i mean only dates and water ?
ps Sirat, lets not go overboard, i mean only dates and water ?
an exaggerated example.

I have however met people who lived on such provisions for a few months to reach a goal for the sake of Allaah. It's all about the imaan. What is overboard for you and I isn't necessarily so for others. Asalamalaykum.
