                  Name of prophet saws sword.
Ten swords according to my good source:

1)Al Mafoor, belonged to prophet saws father, given to him through inheritence.

                  2) Al Azboo, before the battle of Badr commenced, Saad bin abdara r.a. gave it to prophet saws as hadyah.

                  3) Zulfikar, main sword of prophet saws. From the booty of Badr. Had two points at end. If anyone has this sword I'll give em me house.

                  4) Sim San, means the one which cuts. Sword belonged to Hazrat Umar bin rabih, again given to the noble prophet saws.

                  5) Al Katlee

                  6) Al bitr, the one which cuts finely

                  7) Al Hadth, meaning the death sword

                  8) Al Rassop, the one which plunges into the body

                  9) Al-Mukhtam, the one which cuts

                  10) Al-Qazib, the one which severly cuts.

These are from my scholar friend, if there are any discrepencies may Allah forgive me and my friend. If anyone wants to know the source I can
                  supply it.

                  Bro Hanif.

             assalaamu alaikum

The Prophet of Allah sallallahu alaihe wasallam had several swords, each of which had a special
name. For example the first sword was named 'Ma-thur' which was inherited from his father. The name of another sword was 'Qadib', one was 'Qil-ee', one was
             'Tabaar' and one was 'Dhulfiqaar'.

             Assalam-u-Alaikum,

What was the name of the Prophet 's sword?

             from the following web site:
             http://www.geocities.com/~abdulwahid//muslimarticles/rasul_sword.html

             "Sayyidina Rasulullah,
sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam had several swords, each of which had a special name. For example, the first sword was named
"Ma-thur," which was inherited from his father. The name of another sword was "Qadib;" one was "Qil'ee;" one was
"Tabaar," and one was "Dhulfiqaar," etc...
Allaamah Bayjuri writes this about the sword named "Dhulfiqaar." At the time of conquering Makkah, Sayyidina Rasulullah,
sallallahu 'alayhi wa sallam, had this sword."

Thus i conclude that the Prophet (SAW) owned many swords some whose names were Ma-thur, Qadib, Qil'ee, Dhulfiqaar, Tabaar, etc.

P.S. This was a trick question since there are more than one sword

             Wassalam-u-Alaikum,
             Uzer

What was the name of the Prophet 's sword?

According to Ibn al-Qayyim's Zaad al-Ma3aad, the Propohet (Peace Be Upon Him ) possessed 9 swords during the span of his lifetime, all with different names!!!

But I think you are talking about the famous sword that he got from Abu Jahl after he was killed at Badr, and he kept it with him throughout his life until he died.  At
that time it was given to Ali (r.a.).  The name of this sword was:

             DHUL-FAQAAR

             Asalaam alaikum,

I'd like to give a shout out to all the people participating in this contest as well as my homies in cow town albany.  Regis, I tell you, that was so humiliating to only
get question #2 half right, grrrrrrr, next time I have to come prepared and not wait till 15 minutes are left.  So my final anyswer to question #3 is:

Dhul-Fiqar and this is mentioned in the following hadith.

Al-Tirmidhi Hadith 4018      Narrated by Abdullah ibn Abbas
The Prophet (peace be upon him) acquired his sword, Dhul-Fiqar, as private booty at the battle of Badr.
Ibn Majah transmitted it, and Tirmidhi added that it was that about which he had the vision at the battle of Uhud.

               ----

So Regis the way I see it is that the competition, Arsalan , Abdul Basir, and Asim are way out in front.  I think you need to come up with some challenging questions
that could throw them off and give us other people that are trailing an opportunity.  Think about what questions Abdul Basir might not know because he missed
class on that day and ask that question. :p   Desperate measures are needed.

             Wasalaam,
             Arshad
