| [slm] My apologies Baraa for posting something completely off topic, but it was good too see someone post something about cooking in this "kabob" forum. I've had this cooking question I've been wanting to ask for a long time but didn't have the guts to start a new thread. My question is about rose water. You use it in cakes sometimes but in Mediterranean cooking you use it for other dishes as well. Anyways I'm just wondering if anyone makes it themself or just buys it (and if so, from where?). Mind you I know its not that hard to make but I don't have the time (or maybe I'm lazy) to go the florist and buy some roses and then mess around with soaking them in water and what not. Yeah I know ppl this is a completely irrelevant and random post(and spare me any jokes), but it's been awhile since there's been some cooking thread in this forum. Anyways Baraa, again sorry, didn't mean to temporarily hijack your thread. But you do use rose water in some cakes, so I guess it's sort of related :) [slm] |

| Assalamo elikuim Br.AbdulBasir you can buy rose water from any Pakistani/Indian grocery store . It is called "Arqaay gulaab". Wasalam tq |

| Assalama Alaikum, I have created a new web-site dedicated to halal recipes and food, I am now looking for recipes to post on the web-site, the recipes can be from any region of the world. I love to cook and I have noticed both in recipes and in cookbooks, that many haram ingrediants are used like wine, or pork or gelatian, on the web-page any haram recipes that are in print that people like will be revised to halal. Also the web-page is dedicated to recipes from around the world, with section on Asian, African, Middle East, Euro, American: Mexican, and Deserts. | salaam, sr. Barraa, theres alot of sites with good recipes, but i cant remember ne:(! but if u find 1 interesting but with haram ingredients just twist da ingred 2 suit urself!!! :) And dont 4 get 2 send sum over 2 all of us;) w'salaam. |

| Hmmn, Barraa, Well, I am not much of a cook, and I see there are some real gourmet chefs on board. But here's an easy treat anyone can make: Coffee Cream Pie. (Oops..not a cake! Anywayz..) 1 pkg Instant Pudding/ 1 T. instant coffee/ 1 C. milk/ 3 1/2 C. Cool whip/ 1 grahm crust-- Combine pudding, instant coffee and milk. Beat for one minute. Fold in 1 1/2 C. of Cool Whip. Spoon into crust. Freeze until firm. Top with remaining Cool whip. Yum! Enjoy! (hope that is halol)--Sonny ;) |

| Bismillah and salam, well if you feel experimental try some recipes form www.allrecipes.com Barra I know lots of cakes, what kind do you like i will give you easy recipe. If you like arabic sweets, i can give you recipe for the semolina ones are normaly easy. Or would you like the cheesecake? we can exchange insha'Allah ok? |
