| (An advertising agency asked users of roach spray to create drawings of their prey. From the drawings, the agency determined that roach spray sold better than insecticide disks since the users wanted control, and spray allowed them to actively kill the roaches. Below are some of the responses.) "One night I just couldn't take care of these bugs sneaking around in the dark. They are always crawling when you can't see them. I had to do something. I thought wouldn't it be wonderful if I switch on the light the roaches would shrink up and die like vampires to sunlight. So I did, but they just all scattered. But I was ready with my spray so it wasn't a total loss. I got quite a few… continued tomorrow night when nighttime falls." "I tiptoed quietly into the kitchen, perhaps he wasn't around. I stretched my arm up to turn on the light. I hoped I'd be alone when the light on. Perhaps he is sitting on the table I thought. You think that's is impossible? Nothing is that impossible wit that guy. He might not even be alone. He'll run when the light goes on I thought. But what's worse is for him to slip out of sight. No it would be better to confront him before he takes over and 'invites a companion'. The conclusion "A lot of their feelings about the roach were very similar to the feelings that they had about the men in their lives." They said that the roach, like the man in their life, "only comes around when he wants food". The act of spraying roaches and seeing them die was satisfying to this frustrated, powerless group. These women wanted control. They used the spray because it allowed them to participate in the kill." But ironically enough, I was surprised to find that the interior my photo scanner was overpopulated with these loathsome creatures. | [slm], My sister absolutely dreads cockroaches and other insects that can fly. and she is final year medicine student. When I asked her that doesnt she have to operate on those things in her college. She said yes but at that time they are in anaesthesia so they can't fly . And yet as I was asking her this, I just said "Cockroach above your head" and she started screaming! |

| Assalamulaiakum EWwwwwwyucckk, I totally abhor those flying, creepy crawling bugs. Some time back I saw this movie, or at least ten minutes of it. It was titled "Joe's room" or something like that and was about this guy who lives in a dirty room with millions of cockroaches. They talk to him, sing to him even do some household chores :O Uggghhh, the scenes were out of my worst nightmares. The graphics and technical wizadry was awesome I must admit, almost the roach equivalent of "jurassic park" or somehting. But I'm definetly not liek the women who use sprays. LOL When I see a roach I just rely on my "papa". One yell from me, and my dearest papa comes with a "chappal" and squishes the little bug. I do feel a little twinge in my heart but serves the bug right for scaring me like that. But seriously, roaches get immune to sprays after a while and they smell terribel too. So like I said somewhere before, just use boric powder to get rid of the pesky things. wassalam |

| Salam....cockroaches are sooooo fun! how can you ppl hate them?! i mean have you never followed one and then jumped on it till it went 'sqish'! man that really really bugged the mothers! was totally hilairious..aaah the good old days...well those days are over, now i would think about stepping on them, coz like sis Nehar said, its wrong to kill innocnet things.....bro jehad! how can you say that about tomatoes?! plz take that back! they are the royalty of the the whole fruit and vege kingdom! i love them! i mean u can stick them in most stuff and it tastes great! and they are soooo yummy! hey sis Nehar i had these gorgeous cherry tomatoes today, they were awsome! i finished the whole pack b4 ma finished unpacking all the shopping...mmmm....lol, yeah bro'z deff need to feel like a 'hero' somehow....lol,bet they hate the hoover Lisha,slims down their chances of 'saving the day'....anyways me gotta go, all that tomatoe talk made me hungry, take care, W'salam |

| Asalm walakum, Cockroaches are great, they are really tough, if you chop of its head, it will remain alive, until it dies of starvation. If one dies, the eggs inside it remain alive, and hatch, and crawl out of the mother. Even if you step on one the eggs in side the mess my still have the potential to hatch, so you should clean up the mess. Coooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool |

| assalamu alaikum wr wb YUK!!!!!! cockroaches the white ones, big things are sooooo freaky.. i just get shivers just thinking about it. back in the villages sitting on the potty on the ground..and out comes one or two rubbing up against your bottom... ok..that's sick ok.. but it happens... you're about to take a shower and as you're heating the water, out they come out of the drain... HUGE white ones and black, brown ones... and you're like OMG what is that?!!! that's sooo BIG!!! argh! mommy... then you realize OMG im not the only one doing this..my bro was just as scared as i? lol... and my older bro was like "KILL IT !!" to me..and im like "NO YOU DO IT YOU WIMP." lol... we both were freaking out.. and my aunt walks in and throws the little freaks out the window like its nothing... ew...yuk.... *shivers* ok.. enough about it.. my dad always jokes around about having fried cockroaches masala etc.. yuk... |

| Here is a horrible story about cockroaches. One time I was living in a horrible slum building and I notice a dreadful smell like cooking chitterlins coming from somewhere in the building. I cautiously tiptoed up the stairs to see what it might be and where. At the top of the stairs sat a dead man...apparently he had died while in the middle of a meal, and his food on his fork was frozen half way up to his mouth. I was completely shocked, and wanted to do a final good deed for the poor dead guy. So I offered to take out his trash for him. I grabbed ahold of a big bag of trash that was sitting there and began to pull it down the stairs. Out of the bag rushed a huge cockroach and ran up my arm. I screamed and dropped the bag, and out ruched thousands of these denizens of hell, over the floors and stairs, up the walls and all over my body. I was in a frenzy and yelled "Om mani padni hum!" which, by the grace of God froze the filthy bugs in their tracks. A neighbor came out of her room and removed the frozen cockroaches from my clothing, hair, and body. I was so bent out of shape I called the housing authority, and they condemed the building and sent the buildings owner to prison, for jeporadizing the health and safety of his tenants. I believe in those bugs, and I talk to them now with respect. I say, "If you come into my house I will kill you" and if they do, then I kill them. They give me a heart attack. There is every reason to hate them. They are smart and dangerous. Roach spray is inadequate, they should be smashed completely flat, so that you get eggs, and then, as mentioned, the mess should be cleaned up. Whenever I am looking for a place to live, I check it out for signs of those bugs, and I won't live anyplace where I see a trace of them. Boric powder is also inadequate. What you need is bombs. Really. How can you joke about such horrid, creepy creatures from hell? I get scared just picturing the little monsters. I will probably have to pray tonight. Your friend, Sonny |

| Assalam-o-Alaikum, I think we need to change the heading of the subject. Instead of why 'women' hate cockroaches, it should be why "humans" hate cockroaches because , although I am a male,I know I will be amongst the toppers who are most afraid of these creatures. I remember, I used to have a chair in my bathroom to climb on specially because of these creatures, so that whenever they come out, atleast i have a chance to get safe so that it doesn't even come closer. I know if I ever die of Anaphylactic reaction, it would only be because of one of these little creatures...............:) Wassalam. |

| Salaam, Pardon me for using an unknown terminology. That's actually a medical term. that means "An exaggerated reaction of an organism to a foreign protein or other substance to which it has previuosly become sensitized". Hope I make some sense. Wassalam. |
