| [slm] Ok here are some of mine, sorry bhaloo for not following your rules :) Given my one-track mind or one-dimensional tilt on this board, as many no doubt have noticed, my first few must be: ;-) aka BrKhalid-my virtual companion and adviser on the Hajj, who, like me, isn't shy about talking about it either. We should write a book someday. One of these days inshallah perhaps we'll bump into one another during the mad dash through the gates of Masjid ul-Nabi in the early morning.:) Jannah-for giving ;-) and I some company on the Road to Makkah forum. Sometimes it seemed like our own little board. You can also help with the book. :) eleanor-for her enthusiasm and thirst for knowledge, for her upcoming trip inshallah to Makkah which reminds me not only how I miss it but also about the lessons I learned there. Moving on... se7en-for being way too smart and knowledgable for her age and teaching us old people in every post she writes. And for not participating in WWTBAM to give the rest of us a chance at least. :) bhaloo-for his service to this Board, his illuminating posts, and his constant attacks on the land of Albanyia, which have continuously backfired and only served to embolden and unite the defenders of Albanyia under one banner and prove their mettle to the rest of the world. What was the score of Islamic Jeopardy again? :) Ali-for having the courage to condemn He-Man as a mushrik and give us the Islamic version. :) Saleema-for her service as moderator, for being the first to 1000 posts (I think she was the first) :) AbuKhaled-for being the elusive, eloquent genius of the board, for standing up to the "Alliance" and remaining firm to his principles, and for motivating us all to study more usul-ul-fiqh. assing-for motivating us all to study more ulum-ul-hadith. Arsalan-for his all-round excellence and consistency in posting (we can always count on him for a good post and a good response to anything), for taking the whole "sister arsalan" thing in stride, and for remaining dignified and restrained amidst all these statements being said about him not being as good a basketball player as he says he is. I believe you bro, really I do. :) Asim-for his tireless commitment to posting Qur'anic references to the words in the Taqwa Masjid princess-for making us :) and ;) and :) and ;) and :) and :) meraj-for making us ;-D, for showing me that geeks can be proud of who they are Mona-for her insightful posts, for correcting us on Arabic grammar, and for making me realize my own educational pursuits are in fact relatively easy and pleasurable in comparison to her "torture" to become a PHD Kashif-for his long-standing service, for saving me from throwing away more than a hundred bucks on a set of tafseer, and (along with ;-), Ali, muhannad, haaris, humblemuslim,chachi and the rest of the UK) for teaching us some of your peculiar vernacular. ok I'm losing my voice with all these shout outs so I'll have to stop here...but shout out to all the rest of ya who make the Madina a better place, its brotherhood and sisterhood reminding me of Madina al-Munawarrah. told you guys I've got a one-track mind :) [slm] |
