is this true?

Salaam,

i have just heard an amazing story today about a girl (i think she was about 14 years old). she was calling for her mothers attention (Who was reading quran at the time, so i think did not respond). the girl became frustrated and kicked the quran....today i heard that the girl's face has started to take the shape of a monkey. people have said it is because of her blatant disrespect for the quran and her behaviour towards it.....

i am not joking, in fact when i heard the story i was quite stunned, thinking that the person telling it to me was joking, but many people seem to have heard the same story and state that the girls face does seem to have changed considerably.

so can this sort of thing happen? i find it incredible. does anyone have any other examples of such matters? if so, please do share them with me as im very intrigued.

Asalaamu Alaikum ;-)

From my second hand sources, I believe it came from an article in a Pakistani paper in the North of England.

From what I heard, her "transformation" occured and she died soon after.

May be Br Hanif and others living up North in the UK could give us more details if they have any.

The article can be found at a south african site:

Does anyone also recall the story of that lady in Saudi Arabia who was told by one of the mutawi'een to stop walking in a seducive manner to which she responded by mocking Allah, and before the man's very eyes she slipped and landed in such an awkward way that she died.

A.W.W.

To MMohammed and others,

Insha-allah I will try and tell you the story to my best of my ability,
The incident is trustworthy,

The incident took place in India in a place called Surat.

The girl was watching TV in her house, the azan was called for Salamh and her mother told her to the nearest meaning 'Turn the TV off', a wildlife program was on. She didn;t listen to her mothers words first but later on decided to turn it off. Now from the reliable source that I have heard it from it is said the girl crossed over the Noble Quran and then switched it off. Now I don't know what her intentions were or what was in her heart while she was crossing the quran. As the mother comes in to the room again she finds to her horror that the features of the Wildlife program have been inherited by her daughter. Her daughter now has tendencys like the swine, her mother then takes her to the hospital. At the hospital which is very famous in Surat(ask anyone who lives in Surat to tell you about this hospital and they can inform you about its credibility) numerous scholars and doctors are there trying to restore the girls physical apperence, however, whatever they try it fails. News travelled fast in Surat and people started to go see the actual disfigurement of the girl, they would queue up just to see her. She was behaving like the animal earlier said, After a number of days the girl passed away.

Now you may think that oh this story is humbug but the words of Allah and our prophet saws can NEVER be wrong. To quote a hadith
Imran ibn Husayn said, "The Prophet saws said, 'Some people of this Ummah will be swallowed up by the earth, some will be transformmed into animals, and some will be bombarded with stones.' One of the Muslims asked, 'When will that be, O Messenger of Allah? He said, 'When singers and musical instruments become popular, and much wine will be drunk.'"
Narrated by Al-Tirmidhi, taken from The signs before the day of judgement, by Ibn Kathir, pg 17.

The same can be said for Turkey and India, so many people simply swallowed up by the earth. In relation to the above hadith.
Let us turn to Allah and let us stop the sinning that we are in.

And Allah knows best.

Salaam

Sorry if I sound harsh, but a real muslim should not go around spreading stories like this without evidence.  Until one knows better, just keep quiet.

"Let him who believes remain silent or say good" (Hadith).

"but a real muslim should not go around spreading stories like this without evidence"

What are you getting at? I never said it was true thas why I asked if someone else has heard of it. Please think before you speak, it might help. And you can't say whos a real Muslim and whos fake.. only Allah has the authority to say that!

as salaamu alaykum,

I don't think bro M's post was meant to spread a false story but to find out it's veracity.  The brother had legitimate questions.. can such a thing happen?  Has this been reported historically?

Let's all breathe ok.. goodness in... bad out...  :P

This story reminds me of those things you tell little kids to get them to do what you want... like that vegetables will grow behind your ears if you don't wash...

I think people tell stories like that to keep ppl, especially kids, in check... but why is it necessary to make up stuff?  Teach your kid to *love* the Qur'an, to respect it, to cherish it, to read it and think about it... then you won't have to freak them out with stories like this..

hmm maybe somebody just got the wrong end of the stick

the girl wasn't a good muslim
she's involved in a car accident etc
she comes back her face is disfigured so she looks like
a monkey (astaghfirulla)
somebody says don't do x or allah swt will give you a face like that

then the rumour adds on features to improve it

I did not mean to offend anyone, but spreading rumors is haram.
