Assalamu Alaikum,

princess if u have read Ahmed Sakr'r books, you would never ask the youth to go
there and waste their time or be misguided. We really should investigate who is
a true scholar before exposing him to other Muslims. Personally I have nothing
against him, its his knowledge or understanding of Islam that is sort of
questionable???

wlm,

I find it rather questionable that you would post this in a public forum without any kind of evidence to back up your accusations. What exactly does he say/do that's misguided? Have you even read any of his books? If you want to accuse someone of something at least do it Islamically.

I only posted this anonymous message because I find it an alarming trend that people keep criticizing those more knowledgable among us. There are always accusations floating around about certain speakers ie most recently notable is rumors about hamza yusuf but has anyone come up with a single piece of evidence from anything he has said that is misguidance???

As an ummah we need to take the good from people not sit in our armchairs and criticize anyone who is doing good for islam.

Anonymous, I'm sorry, but what you say makes no sense!

I have read Ahmad Sakr's books.  I have heard the man speak.  And I know who he is (did you know he started the MSA?)  The man *never* claims to be a scholar (and he is not).  He has certain areas of specialties, however, and he's very good at what he does.

He has been instrumental in the rise of Islam in America.  He's a very sincere, devoted Muslim worker.  May Allah accept from him and give him health.  Ameen.

I would like to second the request of Jannah for not making accusations about Muslim individuals/scholars/groups/organizations/daa'ees without backing them up with sound evidences (or *at least* some explanation/reasoning for the accusation).

Please, I beg you!

Jazak Allahu Khairan.

Wassalamu alaikum.

Last year I was at a khutbah he gave and I saw no problem with him whatsoever.  We shook hands afterwards.  He also gave some explanation of verses from the Quran last Ramadan on the islam.org website and there is nothing wrong with anything of his that I have read or heard about.
if u don't know..now u know..
