As salaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh
To my dear brothers and sisters in Islaam...

Recently Allaah blessed me with a trial of a nature I had never encountered before, and it took me somewhat off guard as well as testing my patience, alhamdulillah. The prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam said that the patience is at the time of calamity, and I struggled to meet that requirement of pure patience. Until, that is, I stumbled across a small corner of the internet which has subsequently come to occupy a large part of my heart.

In it I saw true brotherhood and sisterhood, an uncomplicated, devoted and enthusiastic approach to Islaam. I saw mirrored the hadith of our prophet sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam in which he sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam stated that the believers are like one body, when one part of it hurts, so does the other.

I would go to that corner of cyberspace, and sit and read through what was happening in people's lives, what was on people's minds, what trials and blessings people were experiencing. It would help me take my mind of my own worries and warm my heart to see such a community active in working to apply Islaam to all aspects of their lives.

Where is this corner of the internet I speak of so fondly? Here of course :) I would like to introduce myself, perhaps I should have done this sooner. I have been in the shadows for a while now, and perchance I will stay there, but I thought it my duty, and your right, that you should all know how much you have helped me over the past few weeks.

May Allaah bless you all.

welcome to the board :)

wow.. subhanAllah.. Mujaahid now that you know so much about all of us, you need to tell us more about yourself.

I forget sometimes that there are people out there reading the board but not participating in it.. lurking.. drawing conclusions..
Honestly, it kinda creeps me out.. y'all out there should become members..

As salaamu 'alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakaatuh
JazakAllaahu khairan to the brothers and sisters who have returned my Salaam in writing and to all those whom have read it and said it with their mouths and not fingers.

Please allow me to respond to your kind words each by each, and I ask forgiveness from Allaah and you for those of you whom I do not know their gender. :)

Akhee BrKhalid this Ummah is indeed beautiful, the best of the nations amongst mankind and we are not arrogant or boastful in that we are blessed by Allaah to be part of this Ummah, more we are forever in a state of thankfulness that He has turned our heart to His deen and has put the love between our hearts soley for His sake :)

To ukhtee Mahmoodah, may Allaah make you always welcome when you are a stranger as you welcomed me when I was one.

To ukhtee Serena, Allaah has chosen to increase the difficulties for me in walking the path of this life alhamdulillah, and this is a blessing since the hardest trails are those than lead to heaven, may Allaah turn us all to it, and bless you for making du'aa.

To akhee/ukhtee? Lis, it is nice to be here alhamdulillah.

To akhee/ukhtee? Meraj, Mashaa Allaah yes this is a good community here, and Inshaa Allaah it will always stay the same.

To ukhtee se7en, I really do not know a huge amount about the brothers and sisters on the board other than what I have seen here. However I suppose you could say that would give me a large understanding! As regards me, I am a simple brother who is living in the UK at the moment, working to better my skills in certain areas so that soon I will be able to help the Ummah. My passion is in learning the deen, anything small or large from it as knowledge is the greatest weapon against shaytaan and the knowledge of Islaam is the most magificent jewel.

Muadh Ibn Jabal said: "Knowledge is a comforting friend in times of
loneliness, it is the best companion during travels, and it is the inner friend who speaks to you in your privacy. Knowledge is the discerning proof of what is right and what is wrong, and it is the positive force that will help you surmount the trials of comfort, as well as those of hardships. Knowledge is your most powerful sword against your enemy, and finally, it is your most dignifying raiment in the company of your close companions"

This is one of my most favourite quotes, and something which in the past few years I have come to strive for. So now you know about me!

To ukhtee Eleanor, may Allaah always place such love between you and those others whom will bring you closer to Him. We love only for His sake, alhamdulillah. As far as addiction is concerned then maybe the fact that I am usually very busy and will not have the opportunity to look at the board except once a day will help me to not be addicted, although. Addiction to those things which bring you closer to Allaah is a good thing! So Inshaa Allaah we should always give reminders and so if you are addicted to looking here, then you gain something from it! :)

To ukhtee princess, yes Mashaa Allaah the nation of Muhammad sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam spreads across the four corners of the Earth, such is hikmah and beauty of the deen he sallallaahu `alayhi wa sallam came to remind us of. Also in reading the board I notice that you will always end your posts with "langur" and mostly it will be "later langur". Later has become a common phrase here to mean goodbye (look I sound like an old man when I only graduated last year) but what is langur meaning???

To akhee/ukhtee Learner, jazakAllaahu khairan/khayra for your welcome. We should all teach each other with hikmah and compassion, I know very little but we should be active in enjoining the good and forbidding the evil between us so that we can stick firmly to the rope of Allaah, brother or sister, young or old.

I hope that I did not irritate by making this post long, I enjoyed knowing that I thanked each of you separately for returning my Salaam, may Allaah accept it as sadaqah from us all. On with the beneficial posting!
