| ---------------------------------------------------------- ING News and Information "Teaching America about Islam" ---------------------------------------------------------- Summer and Fall Internships with ING (Islamic Networks Group) for Two Projects: 1) School Project (Supported by ING, Council on Islamic Education (CIE), and Zaytuna Institute) This internship is for college students working on a bachelors or higher degree in the fields of science, engineering, humanities, or medicine. Students will work with scholars and activists to develop a new presentation and a mobile museum highlighting Islamic contributions to civilization. The interns will be involved mostly in library research to gather and compile the necessary information showing the contributions Muslims made to civilization. Requirements include having access to Stanford, U.C. Berkeley, or similar university libraries. Knowledge of Arabic, French and/or German at a working level are desirable but not necessary. 2) Media Project (Supported by ING and Zaytuna Institute, in collaboration with other Muslim organizations) This internship is for college students working on a bachelors or higher degree in the fields of mass communications or journalism. Students will work with activists researching & collecting content relating to media's presentations of Islam and Muslims. Preference will be given to candidates who have a proven track record of involvement with Muslim community institutions, including MSAs, youth groups, political organizations, and social welfare groups.
