asalaamu alaykom i have always noticed how after praying in congregation people always move from where they are to another place to pray their sunnah prayers. Why is this? |

AA The Prophet SAW aid that after reading the fard salat, one should either say something or move to another place before reading sunnah. The scholars say that this is to differentiate the sunnah salat from the fard salat, which is much more important. And Allah SWT knows best. |

slm :) I always wondered about this as well ;) If I'm not mistaken, I remember reading in Sunnan Abu Dawood something to the effect stating that every single spot where sujood (prostration) has been done will bear testimony in favour of that person on the day of Judgement. And Allah knows best. wlm :) P.S. Later I learnt from a knowledgable brother that the status of the hadeeth is weak. |

Assalam alaykum I always thought it was coz the earth will become a witness to all that you have done on judgement day and so you are trying to "cover" as many places of the mosque as you can?! |
