slm Favorite childhood memory? hmmmmm. Maybe playing baseball with the kids on the street and belting a tennis ball really deep to center field. Or maybe it was playing Nation Ball (dodge ball) and throwing the ball at each other. Then again it could have been my obsession with anything computer related. ;) |

slm, I had a lot of favorite cartoons...Transformers,Robocop, Silverhawks,MASK,King Arthur and the knights of justice, The Incredible Hulk,Speed Racer,Voltron,Bucky'o'Hare, Gummy bears...the list goes on. I guess I liked transformers the best. tv show-I liked Knight Rider and Airwolf (which I frequently missed since it was so late at night).I also vaguely recall Streethawk. Voyage to the bottom of the sea was okay. So was Are you afraid of the dark? And I also liked the Hulk movies. My favorite was the one with Thor. My all time favorite was Knight Rider. My favorite snack was a bright yellow popsicle! My favorite memory is getting elected to be the president of my (islamic) school Literary Association. Wassalam |

slm, It probably had something to do with books and reading. I never got a chance to find out. It was like this: my brother proposed me for prez. By the way his class voted for me, I realized that I was quite popular. Right after I was elected they found out that next year, I would be in the first form (grade 6) and that would make me a 'junior' no more. So of course I could not be prez. I didn't really mind coz I was kinda scared, wondering about my duties. wlm |

Are You Afraid of the Dark was a great series, I loved it!..long after Childhoods End, for me, anyway. My favorite was Superman. Of course! I had two favorite episodes, one where Superman got stuck in a sauna, and couldn't go out and save the world, because he couldn't figure out how to get out of the sauna. Other one was when he walked through a brick wall without destroying it. Very cool. Been done hundreds of times since, but that was the first time the effect had ever been done. We played a lot of group games--tag, football, raise-'em, Sardines. Lot's of fun!--Sonny--ever played raise-'em? |

[slm] The best cartoon was Pole Position. But hardly anyone ever remembers it. Its about a brother and a sister and they have cars. Does anyone remember?? Memory: It was my first day in nursery, and I was early and I got to play in the sand pit before anyone else got there. :) :) :) |

But hardly anyone ever remembers it. Its about a brother and a sister and they have cars. Does anyone remember??[/quote] Not any old cars, but real fast ones which could do lots of cool stuff!!! Hmm..yeah..the cartoon rings a bell now you come to mention it ;-) |

A.W.W. Sad it may be but I loved the Huckleberry Finn series, man I loved the adventure of the dude. And I DID most of the stuff that he did. Sailing down river on a raft, making tree houses, walking 5 miles on foot to remote areas, making kites and doing all things good and bad and also having a cool bunch of friends that did similiar things. I loved it man, I didn't watch much TV but I made sure that I never missed an episode, I even read all the Huck Finn books.! I've still got it in me, every now and then I love going to the countryside and just chilling out in the sheer greenery and peace. |

AA You guys are real young! How about these cartoons from the 70's : Wacky Races Stop The Pigeon Honk Kong Phooey Help! It's the Hair Bear Bunch! And now a REALLY old one : a kids drama from the late 60's called Timeslip, about a brother and sister going backwards and forwards in time. Man, I could keep going all day, but gotta do some work... |

Hong Kong Phooey was almost too intelligent for words. Very funny. And Gadget! Too cool. Anyhow...Sardines--a hide-and-seek game where one person hides, and the entire group hunts for him/her. Anyone who finds the hiding person hides with him/her until everyone in the group is hiding in the same space. Then you chant "we're all packed in--like sardines in a tin!" Then you disperse, last one to find the group is the next one to hide. Well, I suppose you could do without the chanting nonsense. As a kid, I thought it was fun. --Sonny |

Assalamu Alaikum, I am amazed, nobody mentioned these and they really deserve the right to be mentioned: Tom and Jerry ( My all-time favourites). Pink Panther. Woody Wood-pecker. I wish I'll watch them with my children, InshaAllah, and will still enjoy them as much as they will. Wassalam. |
