slm, try asking a doctor or dermatologist.. they may be able to prescribe something safe and effective :)
salam, thats not always the right move!!! coz afew months ago, i had a VERY bad rash, which caused blemish marks on my face. The docs gave sumthing, but that made it even worse, but then my skin went VERY dry, so i scrubbed my sin VERY hard, to remove the horrible dry skin!!! And eventally they started disapearing!!! i don'y like the doctors, they're a waste of time!!! i know wat u can do, u can dry out ur skin, sooooooo badly, that u end up scrubbing it off, it'll hurt, but it'll work:) OR u cauld look around in shops, they hav loads of products 4 blemishes!!! wa-salam |

Salam, What do you mean by blemish marks? If you have red marks that come and go, you might be affected by rosacea, a skin disorder that needs to be treated by a dermatologist. Wassalam |

No I dont recommend scrubbing the skin off your face. You can scrub too hard and cause permanent damage to your skin like scarring. A lot of the creams that doctors give actually do what scrubbing does. It dries the skin very badly and peels it off. Also most of these creams/medicines contain strong steroids which do put hair on the face. One thing I noticed is when I went on holiday to a very hot country for about 6 weeks I laid off surgary foods and all packaged junk and had the sun on my face and my skin totally cleared up of all blemishes. But then when I came back to my cold climate they cam back :( But I have heard of some pple using sunbeds and generally artificial sun to get rid of belmishes on the skin. And I think thats the best idea. Apart from that I think Ive used every cream on the market and none have worked -so dont waste your money on them. But I still havent tried the vico temercic one so that maybe an idea. I think you should also look at your diet. Are you eating too much sugar? Too much packaged foods and not enough fruit or water? Drinking Water is a really good treatement for good skin. |

Asalaamu alaikum Blemish can be caused from many things.... :)What Causes Acne? The exact cause of acne is unknown, but doctors believe it results from several related factors. One important factor is rising hormone levels. These hormones, called androgens (male sex hormones), increase in both boys and girls during puberty and can cause the sebaceous glands to enlarge and make more sebum. Another factor is heredity or genetics. Researchers believe that the tendency to develop acne can be inherited from parents. For example, studies have shown that many school-age boys with acne have a family history of the disorder. :)Factors That Can Contribute to Acne or Make It Worse Several factors can contribute to the cause of acne or make it worse. Changing hormone levels in girls and women may cause a flare in their acne 2 to 7 days before their menstrual period starts. Hormonal changes related to pregnancy or starting or stopping birth control pills can also cause acne. Stress, particularly severe or prolonged emotional tension, may aggravate the disorder. In addition, certain drugs, including androgens, lithium, and barbiturates, are known to cause acne. Greasy cosmetics may alter the cells of the follicles and make them stick together. Friction caused by leaning on or rubbing the skin or the pressure from bike helmets, backpacks, or tight collars can contribute to or worsen acne. Also, environmental irritants (such as pollution and high humidity), squeezing or picking at blemishes, and hard scrubbing of the skin can make acne worse. :)Myths about the Causes of Acne There are many myths about what causes acne. Chocolate and greasy foods are often blamed, but research has shown that foods seem to have little effect on the development and course of acne in most people. Another common myth is that dirty skin causes acne; however, blackheads and other acne lesions are not caused by dirt. ;)How Should People with Acne Care for Their Skin? :)Clean Skin Gently :)Avoid Frequent Handling of the Skin :)Avoid Suntanning :)Choose Cosmetics Carefully You can find the entire article at the following web site http://my.webmd.com/content/article/1680.50116 Don't worry, if you are young, this will pass:) ma'asalaama Ayla |

yeah it totally depends on WHAT blemishes ur talking about..so be specific, ms or mr! :) another thing..u do NOT want to scrub fiercely..it WILL scar! if it's acne, there r lots of things u can do...n get med for it as well.. :) so let us know...insha'allah they'll go away :) it might be a pigment discoloration or something serious etc..so it's best to get a dr's pronouncement! :) (n then make ur decisions based on ur choices....) :) alrightie then, ciao! |

[slm] My doctor recommended this combination, and it has worked wonders! Use Dove soap to wash your face twice daily and then use Oil of Olay lotion (the kind that has protection from UV rays) as a moisturizer. My face has really cleared up! She also prescribed Retin-A which I use occasionally if a blemish does pop up. It's really important not to use retin-a if you're pregnant though, it can harm your baby. Retin-A and other products like Benzamycin can cause your face to become very dry at first, but it should get better after a while. I think it's also important to use a light moisturizer that doesn't clog your pores as well. Hope this helps! |
