| A.W.W. Does anyone know how to do streaming audio i.e. Real Player ? Insha-allah we are in the process of streaming Quran Tafsirs/Bayans and Jumah Kuhtabs once a week onto the net. But just wondering how to acheive this or if anyone has any information, tips or tricks for Streaming Audio. Salaam. |

| slm, you can stream audio live off a server or you can create flat files and just have them be available off your webpage. flat files are easy to steal and pass around all through the internet, which could be good in the case of dawah only? as for live server streaming it is expensive and takes up alot of bandwith. i'd suggest starting with that realproducer link and just inputting stuff from a tape into real audio. all you have to do is buy one of those two way stereo jacks from radio shack.. plug one into your stereo and one into your laptop, startup realproducer, press play on youre stereo, click on the recording wizard in realproducer et voila it's pretty easy. the only problem is quality and maybe storage problems... mp3 is way ahead in compression but it's also huge in size... u may have a 4 meg mp3 as a less than 1 meg real audio file |
