InshaAllah we're trying to get a group from our Masjid to go.

What was the atmosphere around the conference like last year Br Hanif?

Top man. I came away with my head buzzing. I loved every minute of it. Some of the talks were on education others on love for the prophet but above all these talks gave everyone especially the youth. That you are values, you are acheivers and above all you are muslims.

All the bayans were good, I guess we all have our personal choices but one thing that struck me home was the bayan by Moulana Ahmed Ali(May Allah give him blessings in this life and the next), it was on love for the prophet. Man the crowd were in tears when he was on about how much we have strayed from the path of loving our prophet saws. The bayans are still available on inter-islam.org.

Free food was provided as well and thats for something like 2000-3000 people, at no cost.

Many kids did bayah at the hands of Moulana Yusuf Motala Saab, saying they won't sin anymore and above all become good muslims.

Above all I would say its a good three days for dads, brothers and sons.

Insha-allah I might c u there Br Khalid.

Assalamu'alaikum :)

What is the theme of the conference and what is a bayan?

Plus, is there any follow-up with regards to the bay'ah that the children do?

coz, making bay'ah is not a joke... Is there any support system, that helps these children make bay'ah, and maintain their bay'ah...

Jazakallahukhair...
I hope it'll be a success, inshaALlah :-)
Loved to go... :)

Hey!! Why only for brothers?? I've seen the posters around. I didn't notice that. Thats a shame. Maybe to discourage sisters from travelling without mahram??

Moulana Ahmed Ali came to our uni to do a few talks, masha Allah.

Kids giving ba'yah. Wow thats really heavy, man. Masha Allah. Isn't giving ba'yah a really serious thing, though?? I mean, I think it requires a lot of thought.

I have no idea. May be the venue can't cater for both???

InshaAllah it looks like we'll be going up on the Saturday morning.

Br Hanif, any chance of getting a game of footie in whilst we're there or is it wall to wall lectures?

There will be breaks in between so a game of footie could go ahead. What would be good is if we could have a game of footie with bros from the North and South i.e. mixed teams. I'll see how many lads can come from our end and then I'll mail yah in due course. Of course if we play me and you at opposite teams.  :)

Hmm the bayah meant that they would stay away from sins and try and do good. It wasn't tooo heavy, a daily prayers or tasbih was also given to increase the zikr inside thier young hearts. There was no pressure in giving bayah, those who wanted to were asked those who refrained were not pressured into giving bayah.

A bayan is another word for a lecture/talk. I think the word is an Urdu word, I may be wrong.

As far as I know yes, they can contact the institute for help with they bayah, I'll find out though..

And don't despair sisters with your duas insha-allah it will be a success, you can listen to the conference over the net. It will be broadcast on www.inter-islam.org.

That last bayan before the dua by Shiekh Riyadul Haq, had my heart in my throat. I knew things were bad but I dind't think they were that bad.I feel more fitnah(trials and tribulations are about to come).

May Allah save our iman.

Its funny but the anti Islam sentiment in the UK is slowly rising. Who's to say that the events of the Balkans won't visit these shores one day?

I wonder how we would react if we were really being oppressed in this country like our Brothers and Sisters in other parts of the world?

Alhamdulillah the Conference was very beneficial ;-)
