| Bismillah and salam, Sister, it is about lots of different things. May I get his email or send you email to pass on to him? Has anyone invited speakers before? It is not a conference or anything. We just are in desperate need for a knowledgabel person for a weekend to help fund raise. Most people haven't even been motivated to pay their memebership. How do you do it properly with adab? do you tell them ahead of time that their private counselling is needed as well? Is it ok to offor someone's apartment instead of hotels? that way he can eat halal as well? Or is it rude since we are in the west? Even if you email the fax number, I would welcome any suggestions on how to invite, what would make their stay more comfortable? anything that would help is appreciated please. |

| wlm, sorry sister I'll try to answer your questions... you can fax him the invitation with the details to his fax number. As for fund raising I don't think he does fund raising events Allahu alam. He is more of a ...fiqh professor who does fiqh seminars. As for inviting speakers, usually you would just contact the speaker and tell them the event, the theme, the time, the place, what you want them to speak on and why etc. Then if they speak widely they check their schedules and let you know. Some speakers prefer staying at a hotel, others staying with someone so it is better to ask. Some also have specific honorariums, others don't. Sometimes it's just good to give them something so they can support their families. Motivating people for membership? That's a good question. It would probably be a good idea to find someone who will be a good fund raising type person. Check www.msa-natl.org for their speakers list. They may have some you could contact.
