Al-Asr Islamic Watch

What do you guys think of this Islamic watch?

http://www.alasr.com/

Apparently it will give you the 5 prayer times.  It has a compass built into it also that tells you where Makkah is.  Is there a cheaper place to buy the watch from? ???

It seems like a really convenient watch.

My dad's got one. And he does use its prayer times and it seems to be accurate.

He got his a couple of years ago and I think it cost about £50, I don't know how much that is in $s.

I think the cheapest place would be Saudia, I've seen the watch priced in the UK for well over £100 notes.

Theres another watch you could go for as well it looks more sporty its by Casio, I prefer that one rather than the conservative Al-Asr gents look. Its got a nice black strap, the display is good and I think its even waterproof to a certain extent.

Depends what your tast is in watches is bro.

Apparently Casio stopped making the watch, but I managed to find one place carrying it:

Bhaloo!! Thank you brother!

That Casio watch was the best watch I ever had. Unfortunately I played football (american football to some of you) with it once and it broke. I have been very down since that day, it's been about two months now; I absolutely loved that watch and had no idea if I could get it again since the one I had was a gift from Saudi. I wonder though if Casio stopped making it if they really have that watch. Anyone every use that reems.com before? Never heard of them unti now...

Don't you guys have pads from head to toe to protect yourself ??? When we play rugby i.e real American football we have no pads or protection equipment its sheer muscle V muscle. And you also have cheerleaders compared to our 6ft furry teddy bear mascots, how you supposed to concentrate on the game when you have distractions (women) like that.!!!

Anyway hope you get your watch back.

Pads? No this wasn't the pros, or even an official game, just a regular pick-up game of football. And it is very common in America to play such pick up games with tackling but without pads.

The funny thing is that I took my watch off my wrist because I feared it would be damaged. Unfortunately (or stupidly) I put it in my pocket and though I'm not sure of when it happened, I do remember a few collisions where perhaps the watch was hit.

Abdul Basir I've never bought anything from that store, but I was kind of disappointed in the Casio design.  It looks really bulky compared to the Al-Asr watch.  Insha'Allah I'll order the Al-Asr watch and let you guys know how it is.  Unfortunately you have to set the time in the Al-Asr watch.  I know there are watches out there (not with the prayer times or compass) that set themselves automatically to the official time in the world.

Wow, the watch is listed pretty cheap on E-Bay.  I couldn't find that company anywhere though and their product (Al-Iman watch).  Kathy, whenever I have tried E-Bay, I ALWAYS lose and I notice people end up paying more then what things typically cost in a store.  Any pointers on how to actually get something? ???

Unfortunately my Al-Asr watch was shipped yesterday, so its too late for me.
Dudes, I got the watch

I got the watch earlier in the week, and its got the features I wanted.  The prayer schedule is pretty accurate and how it points to the Qiblah is interesting.  What you do is first figure out where the sun is relative to you and line that up with the watch, then it calculates where the Qiblah is.  It also has the ability to do it based on the moon.  The silver watch to the left on the web page is what I ended up getting.  The styling could have been better, but it does the job. :)

E-Bay is great!
I just got new unopened Al-Qari Plus for $7.00!

My secret is to put the item on "watch item" Then an hour before closing, I bid. That way no one sees I am interested.

Also at that time put in your maximum bid.
There is some site that "those in the know" sign up with and they have some angle. Unfortuanely I never copied the url down.

Last week I got my son a lego set- for $20 dollars and in the store it is about $55. Must admit tho- usually I lose a few before I win!
