Juma Prayers for health care professionals

assalamu 'alaikum,

I'd like to hear about the experiences of doctors/surgeons/nurses or
other emergency staff (males) who by the nature of their work might be
forced to work through the Friday prayers.  Is there any legislation that
might be used to excuse them from their duties, or at least re-schedule
it, during that time? I hear it is pretty strict in N. America for
surgeons.  Is there an effort on the part of Islamic media-watch / human
rights groups to introduce a such a legislation. At the moment, I am not
aware of any provision for such occurances.

I am not sure about the fiqh point of view, I have to ask an expert
(thus I am not asking for fiqh opinions here, since this board by
definition is not a designed for that purpose). Having said that, I doubt that
one (male) can miss Juma prayers on a regular basis on grounds
of work-related reasons.

If you or someone you know have faced similar situations, I'd
appreciate to hear how they dealt with them.

Jazakum Allah Khair.
Take care.
