| Bismillah and salam, I need you opinions on this dear brothers and sisters and may Allah reward your efforts insha'Allah. I been seeing this ex-christian woman who is married to a brother, and he has asked our husbands to try to get close to her since he feels she is near to islam but still has many questions that relate to women. I can't help but feel sometimes, she is only arguimentative to prove us wrong not to learn they why or how. But as Allah my witness I keep trying. Yesterday, we sat and chatted this time about hijab. She doesn't understand why we have to wear it. I explained how it is liberating, about people having to acknowledge the woman as a person when you talk and not look at your body etc. Then she thinks it is more important whats inside then to have to flaunt it to the world, i said to be known to others and da3wa. then she said her daughters don't want to wear it ever because they don't want to look differnt from others kids in the school, I explained the rewards and she said doesn't attract negative attention. I said if someone believes in something strongly, they will not care what others think so much, that as a mother you should teach them to be storng regardless if its about religon or other things in life since they won't be able to please everyone. She says Why is our 3awra most of our bodies when the man's is only form bely button to knees. Why do we have to wear it? I said quite possible because theri drive is stronger which statistacily proven even in non mulsims societies. Then she started to view it as punishment for women. The conversation went on for an hour and we will insha'Allah meet again soon. What do you guys think are some appeals and logical reasons behind wearing of hijab? I have reading up, but still haven't found something that I think would work in this situation. |

| salam i hav had very long disscussions on this with my kufr friends, i xplain y we cover up, its a sign of modesty n it shows ur a muslim!!! abt bein diff, i make it out to my frinds that its good to b different fr the others:) wa-salam |

Salaam, For me i have had lots oflong converstations with my non-muslim friends about my hijab and reasons for covering, what i tell them is that well for modesty and i also tell them that it protects me from men who want to do harm to me i explain that its like my "shield" from unwanted sexual advances and i also tell them because god wants me to, so i do it with out questioning him. i don't if this helped you any bit but this is what i would say. salaam Adilah |
