Assalaamu Alaikum

If any of you have organized one, or participated in one, I'd like to know

1. what the prizes were
2. what kind of questions you asked (assuming it was geared towards non-Muslims)
3. how the contestants were chosen
4. if non Muslims were interested
5. and if you would recommend it.

Jazakaallahu Khair

Wa alaikum assalaam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh,

We have Islamic Jeopardy at our University but it is sort of a post-IAW get together as something fun to do after all the IAW work is done.  We have two Universities in our city and it has become a competition between the MSA's of the two universities. Sisters of one uni compete with sisters from other uni, and the brothers do their thing separately. Later in the evening, the brothers and sisters scores are totalled to get the winning university.

1. The prize is a trophy that goes back and forth each year, between the two universities depending on who wins. Also each contestent gets a medal.

2. The Questions vary from Islamic Topics (Tafseer, Seerah, Aqeedah) to General Knowledge Topic (Science, Geography, etc). Usually Double Jeopardy has tougher questions.

3. The last time I attended, everyones name was put in a box. Maybe one for Single J. and one for Double J.  The way we do it, the format is a little different from real jeopardy. 3 names are picked from each university.  So 3 sisters from uni1 vs 3 sisters from uni2. Then another group of 3's for Double J. Usually the more knowledgeable sisters are saved for Double J. where they can do some major damage ;)

4. This idea of having it as part of IAW sounds interesting.  If it is intended primarily for dawah purposes, maybe you could focus in on misconceptions about Islam.

5. MaashaAllah! You're doing IAW planning so early. It would be a really creative and different way of doing Dawah... give it a try! Maybe I'll borrow your idea and suggest it to our group...

Let us know how it goes!

A local MSA did a pop quiz kinda thing.. at the dawaah table, they had a quiz of 10 very very basic questions on Islam, multiple choice.. they put them in a box and announced the winner on the last day of IAW.  I think the winner won a t-shirt..

I'll try to find the quiz inshaAllah..
