A.W.W. U must be joking, it was NBA this and NBA that we Brits never understood much of it. Lets hear for Wimbledon, Cricket, Football, Netball, Hockey, Subbuteo, International Bowls, International Tiddlywinks and above all the best of the best Indoor Bowls, You can't beat the Brits in Tiddlywinks we ARE the best. |

slm Yeah I miss the NBA threads. When the Lakers lost their only game in the playoffs, it was pretty amazing how many people posted and dissed me. Arsalan went pretty easy on me though. But don't fret, a few more months and the season starts again as the Lakers will insha'Allah 3-peat. ;) Is there anyone that think the Lakers won't win next year, and why? ??? Tiddlywinks sounds boring, so do the rest of those British game names. Is that why the British are always rioting during sporting events? ??? Because the fans are bored and need a real sport like basketball or football (American football to you Brits). |

[slm] I started watching NBA finals after reading the threads over here. It's not as boring as it seems to be. Though i would always prefer tennis, cricket, hockey, football (the real one, played with foot ;)) anytime. wassalam |

[slm] Bhaloo, it's too early to say anything about the next season, let alone who's gonna win the championship! One thing I would say though. I would be surprised if Rockets don't make the playoffs this season. Especially if Olajuwon plays the season and remains healthy during most of the games. Anyone still think Jordan will still make a comeback? |
The thought crossed my mind, and I didn't want to say it that way and embarass our friends across the pond. But I'm glad someone did. :) Arsalan what makes you think the Rockets would make the playoffs? I haven't been watching what transactions they have been doing, but did anything happen lately? I know today is the day when free agents can sign with other teams. Jason Williams will no longer be with Sacramento and Jason Kidd won't be with the Suns. Everyone is trying to get Chris Weber, and I know he gets along with Shaq. :) |
arshad... brother... although i am a *cough* hornets fan *cough cough* i will say one thing... two words bro... zone defense :) but i will admit... its going to be hard sleeping the savage beast... and im hoping some team from the west can do it inshaAllah... im still very very very upset at the spurs for their HORRIBLE series... i expected more... *sigh* [wlm] adami |

slm Don't you think zone defense is going to help the Lakers? ??? Shaq will just sit back there under the basket and block people all day long. :) The zone defense is going to be troublesome for Kobe when he tries and score, but it shouldn't be much of a problem for Shaq on the offensive end.
im still very very very upset at the spurs for their HORRIBLE series... i expected more... *sigh*
That was the most stunning thing I have ever seen in basketball. I couldn't believe it. For the Spurs to lose games by 25 points and 39 points was a real shocker. Its too bad Arsalan didn't watch those games. I would have loved to seen the expressions on his face. ;) Zanfaz I'm glad to see you became a basketball fan after reading the thread. :) |

slm, I heard something about Jordon asking Olajuwan to play with him on his team...two classics who still got game...What if Jordon becomes Muslim! Wow..Insha'Allah this rumor is true. If Jordan comes back he'll play for the Wizards probably right? Yeah...Tiddlywinks. You guys should be embarassed to even say that word in the same sentence as basketball, football and various other manly American sports.. :) Take Care, Wassalam, Nazia |

A.W.W. Tiddlywinks is played by one or more players, the object of the game is to place a plastic counter(s) in a pot. The game requires high level of concentration, dextrity, composure, excellent hand and eye co-ordination, reflexeology, proper breathing techniques and a high level of of stress intake. This game as you can gather is not for the faint hearted. Talking of games you Yankee doodles have stolen games from us Brits. To name a few games stolen from us Tennis, Pool, Billards, Rugby,(Now the Yanks have the nerve to call it American Football, disgusting) Rounders,(Now the Yanks have a nerve to call it BaseBall, double disgusting) Netball(Now, the Yanks have the nerve to call it BasketBall, tch tch) Ice Hockey, Clay Pigeon Shooting Wrestling(We had the game wrestinlg covered years ago, I'm sure some Bristers can even remember good old Big Daddy and Giant Haystacks, that was REAL wrestling, with REAL men, with REAL punches not some fake muscle actors and actresses you now get on WWF.) Other games we Brits have invented Cricket, Bowls, Darts La Cros Monopoly(ok. its a good game but it can be a sport) I think thats game set and match to the Brits. Laterz Sporting fans |

Assalamu alaikum,
Talking of games you Yankee doodles have stolen games from us Brits. To name a few games stolen from us . . . Netball(Now, the Yanks have the nerve to call it BasketBall, tch tch) . .
Ahem! Technically speaking, it was a Canadian man (Dr.James Naismith) who invented b-ball in 1891 while serving a teaching position at the YMCA Training School in Springfield, Massachusetts. ;-D Wassalam |

Assalaamu alaikum, Brits might have invented many games but they are masters of none today. I sometimes feel sorry for them :) The once lords are now mere minions. They have the most popular football and cricket leagues in the world. But, their national teams get beaten their pants off by just about every other country! And if you follow british press they are such cry babies. They never accept there loss and find faults in others. tsk tsk, grow up :) I remember England did not qualify for the '94 World Cup. My brother related this incident. There was this brit at his work place and with all the excitement about soccer in the US several coollegues were talking about it. Not knowing that England never qualified for the Cup, my brother asked the brit: "So you must be excited to see England in the US, what do you say their chances are?" The guy got all red faced! hehe :) Wasalaam. |
