Brothers and sisters -- Assalamu 'alaikum I have typed this out 4 times trying to figure out the right way to say this. I finally decided to just be blunt -- After a brief stay in the hospital this past weekend, my sister (Serena) found out late this afternoon that she has ovarian cancer :( She knew this was a possibility because of an inconclusive biopsy done a few weeks back and increasing pain. She was re-tested and was diagnosed with cancer. I don't know all the details, I'm sorry. I can stay in touch if you want. I'm posting this here because some of you have asked about her and how she's doing. Please keep her in your prayers these next few weeks. Cindy |

slm Sorry to hear of this. My mother had ovarian cancer about 4 years ago. The cancer had spread to her lymph nodes as well, and it was in a very advanced stage of cancer. She had an operation and was subjected to chemo therapy, and alhumdullilah she is alive. Insha'Allah I will pray for your sister's recovery. Also, some brother sent me a recipe for curing cancer through herbal medicines, I'll insha'Allah look for that and put it up. I'm not sure how effective it is, but its worth a try. It consists of black seeds and honey, and some others as well. |

slm, omg... this is such saddening news... cindy, please tell your sister that she is in our prayers and duaas... we care about her as our sister in islam and a unique part of the madinah community... inshallah, may Allah give her patience and strength in the face of this difficult time for her, and may He cure her of her sickness. subhanallah.. its just another constant reminder of how Allah does as He wills and to whomever He wills... not to sound pessemistic, but it reminds us that death is very realy and will happen to us all one day... but inshallah may sr serena recover from her illness. sr cindy, thank you for keeping us updated on your sister's condition... we care for her and her daughter and pray that Allah does what is best for her. fiamaanillah, |

He left the US and went to live his last few weeks in Saudi Arabia. There he began using the following black seed treatment. By the grace of Allah (SWT) he is cured now and can be contacted at the above number. here's the recipe. Please share it with others. 1. 1/2 kg pure honey (asal safee aslee noe sedr or shookee) 2. 3 large table spoon of black seed (from Qaseem) 3. head of garlic (one Indian garlic medium size) mix the above real good (grind the garlic/black seed before mix) every morning take one medium size spoonful from the above mix and take one "myrrh" size of a coffee seed and another peice of "asafetida" "in arabic it is called "helteet" size of an adas seed and drink with it one cup of local fresh cold milk and do this for 3 months and may Allah give the cure. For more informatioon about this recipe please contact Br. Shakir Al-thenyan 966 1 491 2222 or 3333 in Saudi Arabia. |

Assalamu alaykum, I really don't know what to say except that i'll do my best to make dua' for your sister. Just tell her to keep in mind that Allah (swt) gives the hardest trials for those He loves the most. May this be a cleansing for her and may Allah grant her shifaa' soon. Ameen |

Assalamu'alaikum, Dearest Cindy... and Serena (if U're reading this) I really don't know what to say... but, please know, that U're in our thoughts.... I'd like to share with you this du'a from the prophet. It's one of my favourite du'as. And I guess...this is all I can give to you, right now... InshaALlah, I hope it will bring tranquility to both of you and your family and all the blessings that comes with it.... Ameen. "O Allah, by Your knowledge of the Unseen and Your power over all creations, keep me alive so long as You know life is good for me, and bring about my death when you know death is good for me. O Allah, I ask You to make me fear You in the secret and in the open. I ask you to make me speak sincerely at times of contentment and at times of anger, I ask You to make me moderate in poverty and in wealth, I ask You for a blessing that does not end, contentment that never ceases, and for acceptance of Your decree. I ask You for a good life after death, and I ask You for the joy of looking upon Your face and the longing to meet You, with no harmful adversity or misleading trial (fitnah). O Allah, adorn us with the beauty of faith, guide us and let us be a means of guidance for others." (Hadith reported by Al Nisaai in Al Sunan 3/55 and by Al Haakim, Saheeh Al Jaami' 1301) I think the du'a above has a beautiful story behind it too... something related to what Sis Serena is facing... if there's anyone who knows abt it.... pls do share. Shukran Take care, Remember each other in our du'as wassalam :-) |

Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh I am very sad to hear of Serena's illness, Cindy. The very best that we can do for her is to implore Allah Almighty to grant her quick recovery. Insha Allah, we will all do that. As for treatment, which is the next best thing for her, she can go for Black Seed treatment, as suggested by brother Arshad. For more information on this herb which is a remedy for all illnesses except death, please visit: http://www.sweetsunnah.com/guide.htm Wassalmau Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh Haniff (with 2 f's) |

[slm] Dear Cindy, Serena and your family are in my prayers. I have never met Serena in my life and yet I feel for her and I am sad for her. May Allah, the Most Merciful give her strength in this life and Paradise for her next life. How is her daughter holding up? Is she ok? Please do let us know. And how are you holding up? Keep that chin up and tell Serena to do the same. [wlm] Saleema |

Assalamu 'alaikum Madina Members, I want to thank all of you for your well wishes and I’m sorry that I can’t respond to each and every one of you personally but my time is short. I have passed on your prayers and messages to Serena and she is extremely grateful to all of you for wishing her the best and returns your du’as. Because of a request from Serena I am keeping her health and progress a private matter away from the world’s eyes, but if you have a question or concern about her, please feel free to email me at starlo31@hotmail.com. Also, if you would like to contact her you can but please keep in mind that she is going through a lot right now and may not be able to respond to you right away. Bhaloo – I’m sorry to hear about your Mother but I’m happy that she is alive and well, Alhamdulillah. Thank you so much for the Black seed and honey mixture. A sister gave her the black seeds but she didn’t know how to use them. Now she does and she said that she’ll use it everyday. Saleema – I am doing good. I’m staying strong so that I can be her pillar to lean on. Her daughter is fine – Serena tries to keep her home environment very upbeat even though she is torn up inside. To those of you who my sister owes emails to, please accept her excuses for not writing right away and allow her the time to respond when she is feeling better. Again, my apologies for not responding to each of you personally. Your prayers mean so much to both of us and I can only hope that you keep her in your du’as. I'll be in touch. Ma'assalam, Cindy |
