| [slm] ok so i've been lurking here since the old message board ;) I found jannah.org way back in 98(ish) using the 'mama list' as a gateway to other sites and am quite familiar with most of the 'characters' here including the oldies Jannah, Abu Khaled, Arshad, Se7en, Kashif, Saleema et al. and remember those awful riddles back then by Abu Khaled ;-D That probably makes me the longest serving lurker(sad or what!) :D Anyway I always thought Jannah was Huma, the sis that created the mama list? :o The reason i haven't registered is that i visit and participate in other sites too, hence lack of time but have been visiting this site 24/7 and made quite a 'few' anon posts asking various questions about faith as i've been coping with illness for several yrs now. Due to this I constantly call my faith into question and say silly things or something that may irritate others so I thought I'd keep my distance and stay silent. I've realised knowledge has no limits, no barriers. Theres a nice blend of ages here and we can all learn something from one another regardless of our age. The most meaningful things said to me are from people younger than me. Peace and love to all [wlm] oh, I'm a brit :) |

| slm, whoo hoo! another ex-lurker ;-D welcome aboard explorer... and dont worry about what you ask here (as long as it is in line with the constution ;) ).. there are no stupid questions... you are absolutely right, there is no limit to knowledge. well technically speaking, there is, because Allah only reveals what He wills :) but still, for our purposes, there is no limit to what we can seek to learn. and liek sr se7en said before, none of us here is a scholar, but we can try our best to discuss and provide information/resources for questions. and alhamdulillah, thats the beauty of this board.. its a place where anyone can come and ask and feel welcome no matter where they came from, what their situation, or what they believe. ok im gonna stop rambling now :) inshallah, i hope Allah will relieve your ilness and bring you back to health... just remember, if you see it from the perspective that Allah is doing only what is best for you, it makes a heck of a lot more sense and it is easier to accept. so yeah.. welcome aboard and enjoy your stay here inshallah :) - the welcoming wagon ;-D |

| walaikum salaam wrt, this thread is rather disturbing eh :) anyone get the feeling that one day ppl will come up to us like they do tv stars and say "ohmigoshhhhhhh i just LOVE your character on the madina board" and then we'll say "uhhh that was just us, for real... we're like people" and then they'll say "wowwwwww i love how you acted in that one thread....." j/k ;) |

I'm just familiar with the names here.....its not like i've been secretely analysing each of you like some sort of wacko ;-D but yeh i've been following this site for yrs now. Its really nice here, lots of wisdom and good advice and most of all no fighting as in other islamic forums. Have you guys seens the forum at ummah.net? The abuse is unbelievable.Its crazy :o I come here, ask a few questions, dissappear and go to other places to find out more. Theres so many issues in my life right now and many things to find out. | Salaam Explorer! I know what you're saying. I too was a lurker. Although I only lurked from November of 2000. Jannah just has so much great stuff here and so many great links that I would lose myself on other parts of the board or just reading what everyone else has to say. One of the best things about being a mu'min is that just about anywhere you go in the world you'll be welcomed with open arms by other Muslims; but I felt like I would somehow be intruding by moving in. Duh!!! Isn't that what a message board is for? Anyway, I love it here and insha'allah, I'll be around for awhile!
