Pretty sure the second "hadith" is non-existent.

Assalamu alaykum wa rahmatollahi wa baraktoh,
"The ink of the scholar is holier than the blood of the martyr"
I've recently come accross a book titled "An Introduction to the Science of Hadith". The foreword to the book mentions some commonly-quoted ahadith with varying isnads. The above hadith is i believe number 25 on the list, click on the link on that hadith to check its isnad.Below is the link to the book.

And God knows best.

I have heard of this statement, "The ink of the scholar is holier than the blood of the martyr", but there was also some question about it being attributed to the Prophet (SAW) from what I remembered, and the link that brother Amal provided clarifies the issue.

"Mentioned by al-Manjaniqi in his collection of ahadith of older narrators reporting from younger ones, on the authority of al-Hasan al- Basri. Al-Khatib al-Baghdadi said that it is maudu' as a narration from the Prophet (may Allah bless him and grant him peace), but that it is a statement of al-Hasan al-Basri"

Therefore we should not attribute this saying to the Prophet (SAW).
