| assalaamu alaikum wr wb, For those of you who have a sat dish or knows someone in your vicinity who does...mark your calendars for sun aug.5 insha'allah... the new channel "free speech tv" masha'allah has been airing some real awesome shows...in fact, they've aired it twice a day ago when we caught it on tv...you don't want to miss it!!! they're awesomely done masha'allah! both are exposes of the situation in israel..or occupied palestine..the plight of the pali ppl mA, both docs are shown REPEATEDLY on this channel..please see the guide on the channels website: www.fstv.org 1) Testimonies:Israeli Solders of the Intifada (rated R for violence n some lang) a Doc: Isaeli soldiers who fought against the Palestinians during the Intifada discuss the range of emotions they felt then and memories they now harbor. This one is produced and directed by the Israelis. It is verrrry powerful..some of the soldiers express regret..and some of them contempt for the palestinians...very violent footage of israeli soldiers beating innocent palis are depicted in the doc. a definite must see!!! 2) Jerusalem: An Occupation Set in Stone another doc rated R for violence A powerful documentary exposing the abuses of the Israeli army on the people of Palestine. This one is produced by the Palestinians.. and discusses the housing prob...of pali homes being demolished for no reason by the israeli authorities to make room for new luxurious housing arrangements for the jewish settlers w/o any compensation to the uprooted pali families. Another def must see!! Both these two documentary shows are provocatively produced...and do not belittle the prkblem that the palestinians face...please watch these two programs that are being aired on free speech's channel which is shown via a sat dish (not sure if it's also available on cable). we've taped the two programs, it's something you'd def like to share with your muslm community and something you can use at uni MSAs etc...if you catch the programs (which are repetively aired alhamdulillah thru out these weeks), you can thank them for airing these exposes and for producing the actual situation (documented israeli brutality firsthand!!!) that is taking place back there!
