Assalamu'alaikum... Just a side comment from the previous thread....
I know age is nothing, i was kiddin
Age is something.... As the hadith goes,'Love the young, Respect the old' I think that must've accounted for something. Allahua'lam. Just my thoughts... Take care, all! :) wassalam |
A.A. yeah for sure that's true Barr, what I guess is right is that age ON THIS BOARD shouldn't be a matter discrimination (even positive discrimination). lol asalaamu alaikum. abdullah,. |
slm Princess that's a nice quote you have in your signature, I just noticed it, its very familiar. :)
It sounds like a quote from Al Wabil Assayib by Ibn Al Qayyim. |

[slm] I think "old" or "young" is simply symbolic in calendar years... Its how much Ilm you have first, and how much you utilize that ilm second. Knowledge that's unutilized is nothing. Meaningless. Whereas knowledge that's utilized in a consistent way, leads to more knowledge and beauty and discovering of even higher and higher wisdoms the levels only Allah [saw] can determine. May He grant us wisdom to facilitate all our affairs (Amin). Maliha :-) [wlm] |

Your father did a translation of the book, right? I saw it on amazon.com. Is he going to do more works of Ibn Qayyim? |

[slm] whoa I spent the last half hour or so reading the "tell me more" thread and se7en was 16 back then! Hey happy b'day kiddo!! from reading your posts I can tell you're wise waaaaay beyond your years. hmm hey nobody else wants to say how old they are....fair enough. If I was to define how old I am in terms of knowledge, as Sister Maliha suggested, I'd estimate that I was nine..i have so much more to learn! [wlm] Ahmed |

slm lets just say i am over the age limit ....waaaaaaaaay over....... you know when people say 'its all down hill from here.' What do they mean exactly? where is here and why did they choose a hill and everything that goes up,must come down so why defy the laws of physics, science, nature, ya know. more experience, hmmm i wont adopt that one, since more may not always be too healthy. what ever the age, can't rewinde or fast forward. quite amazing! |

slm,
I prefer experienced
Indeed! as the arabic saying goes "Older than you by a day, knows more than you by a year"...so br.Khalid we should start calling you Shaikh Khalid :) |
