| Salaam I hope everyone is in the best of health. I was wondering if any brothers or sisters could give me some links or information on who 'imam Siraj Wahaj' is, like where hes from, how old is he, and what kind of stuff is he involved in. I have been hearing his talks, and I think hes really good. I thinks hes an imam in New York and thats all I know about him. Also if you can give me any sites from where I can download his talks from. Jazahkallah Khair PS. This is a avid lurker speaking and I must say that this site is VERY good. | Walaikum Salaam, Imam Siraj Wahaj is awesome, Masha'Allah, yes he is an Imam at a Masjid in New York, I've been there, the community there is very strong mash'allah, they are currently trying to build a new masjid. He is very knowledgable, has spoken at my Masjid many times, and also at ISNA, dunno how you can contact him though, He has a secretary at his Masjid.. I dont think I have his contact info anymore, but I'll check around.. |

| wa alaykum as salaam wa rahmatAllah, Yeah, mashaAllah, Imam Siraj has probably done more for Islam than all of us here combined :) He's the imam of Masjid al-Taqwa in Brooklyn, a community that's exploding in size and he's been fundraising for a while now to build a new masjid. I recently had a conversation with a brother who knew Imam Siraj back in the day.. he told me how they used to do jummah in someone's living room, and then how they bought the building for what is now masjid al taqwa and how it was in a neighborhood surrounded by drug dealers.. the bro had *stories* about how they cleaned that neighborhood up :) Anyway, Imam Siraj came into Islam through the "backdoor", ie he was first in the nation of islam and then came into Islam. He's been an active da'ee for many many years, cleaning up the streets in the city, bringing *many* into Islam.. he was vice president of ISNA a few years back.. he travels *constantly*, speaking and fundraising all over the united states and internationally as well.. and he's been working hard to bring farrakhan and his followers into the fold of Islam. May Allah reward him for all his efforts :) I do have his contact info, if you would like to invite him to something you can email me inshaAllah. And, one last thing: become a member!
