Asalaamu Alaikum ;-)
So I am a wonder'n... How much did you weigh at birth?
A sprightly 8lbs I believe ;-) What makes me wonder is if the mother eats Haram during pregnancy as many non Muslims mothers do, does this in anyway affect the natural fitrah of the child when its born??? |

But if you took a look at us now you'd never guess that we were such heavy babies. ^_^ |

Assalamu'alaikum :-) 10 pounds? ??? Was that Ali? Subhanallah! :o God bless you, ukhti! It is natural birth? How much weight did U gain when U had him? And how much did U lost? err.. sorry if it's too personal... afwan... But like you...I weighed about 6.8 pounds so...if there's a possibility that I can give birth to a big baby... I wanna know if my weight prospects are bright! Take care all... hmmm... looks like Meri's brother is the brightest here... 12 pounds! Subhanallah... your mom must be one strong woman... Can U imagine if your mom has your brother and a twin too? Wassalam :-) |

Assalamu 'alaikum
:o Are you scared Cindy? :) I sure as heck am..
Seeing how much these babies weighed -- oh yeah! The scariest part for me though is that out of my 3 boys, the shortest labor I had was 25 hours (hard labor) and the biggest baby was less that 7 and 1/2 pounds. My sister Serena had it easy -- her labor was only 2 1/2 hours. So my question is -- do you think that our pre-pregnancy weight contributes to how hard our labor will be? My sister is tiny and hers was easy. I am "not so tiny" and my labor's were painful. Anyone have ideas? Cindy |
10 pounds? ??? Was that Ali?
Yep!
It is natural birth? How much weight did U gain when U had him? And how much did U lost?
Tried- ended up as a C-section, 26lbs, At post-birth day I had not lost a pound!- The weight story of my life! A couple of weeks later, tho- lost all plus!- but then gained it back recouperating! Dunkin donuts did not help- but I was just craving them!
I wanna know if my weight prospects are bright!
It's possible- things are happening every day.... Seven- when I was pregnant all I could think of was little hole- big head.... |

Assalamu'laikum :-)
Tried- ended up as a C-section, 26lbs, At post-birth day I had not lost a pound!- The weight story of my life!
It certainly is! But I don't get it... Kathy + Ali = x + 26lb sooo... if Ali weighed 10lb it should be Kathy - Ali = x + 16lb Something is mathematically wrong here... or is this one of those mystery puzzles to be solved? Oops... sorry, wrong thread ;) Cindy... my mom went on for labour for about 72 hours... went to labour on Thursday nite, and had me at about 0100hours Saturday, 23rd October... and guess what? The whole of Singapore had a big black out... and mind you... it was Deepavali (Festival of Lights for the Hindus) too! What a day for my mom, subhanallah! And I'm her first! Take care, all :-) wassalam |
Something is mathematically wrong here... or is this one of those mystery puzzles to be solved?
It was the joke of the day- but not very funny to me! I have had "weight" issues all my life. It just seemed fitting and the norm for me to drop a 10 lb baby and stilllllllll not loose any weight! |

[slm] 8 pounds 9 ounces, i don't think any of that smartness was distributed throughout the years though ;) I thought most of that weight in the baby was water and other fluids? Any medical doctors here? |

Salaam u alaikum In addition to about 7.5 (average - obviously a heavier baby will represent more) lbs from the fetus, the mother immediately loses about 5 lb of blood & other fluids, and about 2 lbs from the placenta. Weight gained during pregnancy is a mixture of fetus, extra blood, placenta, breast enlargement, and some fat stores. About 65% of the weight gained during pregnancy is lost upon birth of the baby. Interestingly enough, babies also lose weight when they're born - the cold and stresses of joining the world with the rest of us causes them to lose about a half ounce over their first few days of life, which is quickly made up. :) MSIII |

slm I think I weighed about 9 pounds and each of my brothers were over 10 poundss. My sister, who is now the fattest of us all weighed around 8 pounds. The funniest thing I remember though is when my little cousin was born, she was half an ounce off seven pounds and my grandmother went around telling everyone she was "half a pound off seven ounces". No one bothered to correct her, we thought it was so funny we let her go on with it! wasalaam eleanor. |
