Our Children
By Masood

This is the story of a Muslim named Mo.
It's a symbolic story that many of us may know.

He was born in a Muslim family but they we're weak in the deen.
He was a lovely child, he was more precious then anything you've seen.

He grew up so quick; it was just a flash before his parent's eyes.
They didn't get to teach him about Islam. You know how the time just flies.

Before they knew it, they were sending him off to school.
They were so happy; he shined like a precious little jewel.

He was taught that he was a Muslim, but that's about all he knew.
He wanted to know more but his dad had way too many things to do.

He had cute little cheeks; they turned rosy as he got tired.
He was a handsome little guy, he was always admired.

But with his parents so busy, he never got to learn about Allah.
The days past by and his parents never taught him how to do Salah.

Some more years past by, and by now his voice began to change.
He felt new emotions, and he liked them, even though they felt strange.

His dad finally took him one day to some Islamic Sunday school.
But he had already learned from his friends that religion just wasn't cool.

Time past by and the little man grew older.
With the passage of time his temper became bolder.

His mother was getting worried, he was found to be ditching school.
But she didn't say anything, or else his temper would flare up like fuel.

He would go to parties and come home all drunk.
And in some of his classes he was now beginning to flunk.

Her cute little rosy-cheeked child had become a wild young man.
She cried every night because teaching him Islam was never in her plan.

He meet a pretty girl named Rose, he thought he loved her for sure.
She noticed how he felt, so she asked him to go out with her.

He thought it was love at first sight, she kissed him on the first date.
But she just wanted to sleep with him, yet to that he had no debate.

He would go out all night with her, sometimes without even saying good-bye.
"Why didn't I show him the deen?" His father could only cry.

He kept on partying while his family kept on weeping.
And he meet other girls, and with them too he was also sleeping.

He started to look sick, and he wasn't really felling so good.
His mother just had to cry, he didn't look like the way he should.

He went to the doctor for what he thought was a cold.
"Young man, you got AIDS," is what he was told.

When his mom found out she just couldn't take the pain.
For not teaching him his deen, she knew she was to blame.

Mo got sicker and you could see him getting weaker day by day.
And he didn't know Allah, so to Him he never prayed.

What could she do now for her once precious little guy?
She knew he needed the deen, but now she could only cry.

His time came one day so the Angel came for his spirit.
His dad told him to say la ilaha illalah, but Mo didn't hear it.

"What's that dad? I can't seem to hear you, everything's going dull."
But before Mo ever heard it, the Angel was off with his soul.

His father fell to his knees and cried like he never did before.
He knew he should have taught him the deen, so he felt guilty to the core.

This is the story of little Mo. Lets not let it be the story of our kid's
situation.
So please, my dear brothers and sisters, take this deen to the next
generation!

Assalamualaikum,

what a horrible story. shows how important deen is especially in this country with so many bad influences, a child can be misguided so easily. i have an son who is 19 months old and learning how to talk just a little bit. i have taught him to make dua, he raises his hands when I ask him to make dua and then I say" Allah please make me a good boy when I grow up" and then I say "ameen" and he makes his hands go over his face and does ameen. he also knows how to say "la illa ha illul laho mohammad durasulallah" it is the cutest thing. teaching our kids thier religion especially in the early ages, is very important. Its when they are young is when they learn the quickest. May Allah guide us and our children towards the right path and forgive us for our sins, ameen.

Wow, thats scary...my roommate is a doctor and he works in the ER. He told me about a patient that was brought in the other night, a young guy, who had a severe infection and was close to dying. He noticed his name was Muhammad. From the symptoms, my roommate thought that this guy might have AIDS. He asked the patient if he did, and he denied it. He asked the family, and they denied it. Finally, it came to a point where my roommate is like "Man, you are gonna die. I want to help you.", and the guy caved, and said he had AIDS.

Its a truly amazing time we're living in.

WHATEVER TRIALS YOU FACE FROM ALLAAH, ALWAYS REMEMBER THAT...

He gives us the blessing of fresh air to live
He gives us the blessing of wealth that we give
He gives us the blessing of water to drink
He gives us the blessing of minds so we think
He gives us the blessing of food to be strong
He gives us the blessing of 'ilm - right from wrong
He gives us the blessing of two eyes to see
He gives us the blessing of friends - you and me!
He gives us the blessing of two ears to hear
He gives us the blessing of safety from fear
He gives us the blessing of clothes to keep warm
He gives us the blessing of sunlight at dawn
He gives us the blessing of night to take rest
He gives us the blessing of strength in each test
He gives us the blessing of breezes and shade
He gives us the blessing of victory and aid
He gives us the blessing of shelter from cold
He gives us the blessing of fingers that hold
He gives us the blessing of dads and of mums
He gives us the blessing of daughters and sons
He gives us the blessing of courage to cope
He gives us the blessing of keeping up hope
He gives us the blessing of His Mercy - great
He gives us the blessing of easing our state
He gives us the blessing of our jewel - eemaan
He gives us the blessing of our life - Islaam
He gives us the blessing of sharing a smile!
He gives us the belssing of patience in trial...

Dear Reader! Remember, with each trial you face
Recall Allaah's bounties and pouring of Grace
The Lord of the East and Lord of the West
He gives us what's good for us:

ALLAAH KNOWS BEST!

ABUSED FOR BEING A MUSLIM
(A True Experience)

You saw me there across the street
My scarf was plain to see
And that is when you turned agressive
Just because of me.
You shouted words that stung my ears
Intending to cause pain
You hurled abuse and threatened me
Because my faith was plain.
But though your words were so severe
I managed to stay calm
For I just looked beyond your hatred
At my own eemaan.
And sure enough what I did feel
Apart from pain inside
Was that Allaah was with me there
He was on MY side.
And with that precious thought in mind
I cared not what you said
But I rejoiced at my Islaam
And what was on my head.
And when I think back to that time
With smiles I'll share, not pain
For faith and patience yields rewards
That's what I hope to gain!

very moving poem. May Allah (SWT) give you and
all are sisters and brothers the strength to
continue to practice their faith.

By the way may I forward this? If so who should

As-salaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaah wa barakaatuh

Jakaakum Allaahu khairun for all your touching responses. I do prefer to remain anonymous but everyone is absolutely free to pass this poem on [and also "True Reflections" which, incidentally, was my mother who I was observing.]

Wa salaamu 'alaykum wa rahmatullaah wa baraakatuh.

TRUE REFLECTIONS

In silent prayer you raised your palms
Your tidy hair, not bare
Your gentle gaze kept low and still
As I had watched you there...

Your lips were moving all the while
But not a sound I heard
But still I knew that you were speaking
Some great, noble words...

Your back was arched, your limbs serene
As you prayed on the floor
And not an ounce of pride in that
But humbleness I saw...

A tear just fell, I couldn't help it
Such a moving sight!
A human soul engaged in worship
It just looked so right...

O chiefs and kings! You sit on thrones
But not us servants, see
We're honoured slaves of Ar-Rahmaan
Submitting faithfully.

We care not for your riches, wealth
And neither tread your road
We slaves but seek our Master's Pleasure
In some great abode.

We deem ourselves not self-sufficient
But raise our empty hands
And call upon One Kind, All-Hearing
One Who understands.

So live your life and we'll live ours
Apart as night from day
But leave me now to my sweet comfort
When to Him I pray...

MY GRAVE WORRY...

You tell me, "Don't worry"
But what can I say?
For is not the grave
On your mind each day?
My mind cannot settle
At what I have done
My eye finds no dryness
At what is to come
My heart-beat gets louder
My skin jumps with fear
At thoughts of that journey
That could be so near
For journey we all must
To that darkened hole
When Allaah decides
To re-claim our soul...

Dear reader! Awaken!
You cannot be blind
To what every mortal
Will face at one time
Yes! We will all die
We'll all go in turns
And enter that grave-plot
Of darkness and worms...

"REMEMBER THE DESTROYER OF PLEASURES - DEATH.." [Saying of the Prophet, sallallaahu 'alayhi wasallam. Tirmidhee]
