| slm really it has been hard work, but constant soliciting for ppl to go to MIT for the conference, every meeting i made an annoucement for the conference insha'Allah and i guess there is gonna be a sizeable contingent of new jerseyians sisters and brothers insha'Allah!! i pray there is!! wlm ahmer |

| salam alaikum yes i went.... :) and i was searching for albany ppl, couldn't find anyone!!:( the conference was kinda ok..!! cuz the auditorium was half empty!!! even bigger disappointment was that Shaykh Anwar Awlaki did not come!! due to some emergency so that put on sort of damper on the conf. the workshops were good too. Sister Aminah made a really short speech, Jamal Badawi is a professor!:) Imam Siraj Wahaj was awesome as always..!! So kinda mixed conference!! but in the atmosphere of the events that preceeded, it was a big step to take and hold it mashaAllah.!! one last review the recitation of the Quran by the MIT prof was reallyyyyy awesome!! mashaAllah ..from the organizational point of view, there was no banner in the big auditorium that said, "MSA NorthEast Conference" and it really didn't look nice Wassalamu Alaikum ahmer |

| Assalamualaikum =) InshaAllah I hope everyones doing well... The conf went fairly well in my opinion, I unfortunately couldnt stay for the entire conf because I had to go on with my fam for a *weekend getaway*. Anyways, I was able to attend some of Badawi's talk on political involvement and Muslims...I attended some of the gender roles workshop etc etc. I wanted to attend ALL of the workshops, and if I couldve figured out some way to do so I wouldve. I thought the topics were great, I just wish they were offered again adn again so I couldve checked em all out. We had a MSN stall ;) Im hoping more people stopped by afterwards and picked up MSN info, if anyone needs info, contact me. Overall I was impressed with the conf, I didnt realize it would be so well organized despite the fact that a speaker didn't show and etc. ok! i gotta go...papers to write *sigh*, ws Somaira |
