| confused [how many levels of jannah?] |

| salaam, I was reading about Jannah and it said Paradise had 100 levels then it said it had 8 levels and named them...so that does mean each of the 8 levels have 100 levels within? then I continued to read and it said Paradise had 8 doors. Do these all correlate together somehow? Can anyone shed some light on this please |

| Bismillah and salam, Jannah has 8 doors that we know of. One of which is called Rayyan and it is for the people who fast and lvoe it and do it well., there is another door for the praying, and the people who give elms, etc. Abou the levels, here is what i learnt from the "heaven and hell" book by alashqar (my translation) Bukhari narrated from Abu hurayra that the prophet saws said "whoever believed in Allah and his prophet and did his prayer and fasted Ramadhan it becomes his right on Allah to enter the jannah, whether he did jihad fi sabeel Alalh , or if he sat on the earth he was born. so they said: oh prophet shall we then give the people glad tiddings? he saws: Jannah has a hundret levels which Allah prepared it for the ones who do jihad fi sabeel Allah, between any two levels like that of the heaevns and earth. So if you ask Allah, then ask him AlFirdaws, it is in the middle of Jannah, and highest part, above it is the 3arsh of the most merciful and from it the river start to flow" so i think i inferred from that the one hundred levels are for a particular group, mujahideen fi sabeel Allah. Moreoever, He goes on to explain how there are 4 jannahs. Two are for the first peoples and the close. then there are another two for the people of the right. This is indicated/supported by the aya in surat ar-Rahman and others. for example: he makes some interesting difference between them, like the ones who are higher will drink from tasneem straight and the other jannah it is a mixed drink which has tasneem. Also whether the liquid in the river is running or pumping. The hur ayn in one like corals and rubies, in the other extremely beautiful. or even the way the green is described in them, the higher one is extremely green, the other one is described as having lots of branches. Bukhari and Muslim narrated 3an abi mousa al-ash3ari that the prophet saw: two jannahs of silver, their nick nacks and everything, and another two golden and everything in them,.." |
