| Bismillah and salam, What do you sisters think of someone wearing clothes or doing on the face or other part of the body things that are normally known for another culture of her own? Is it culture appropriation? Does it matter if it was another person of color or a white american doing it? Or is it one family and no major boundries should exist? After I wrote my post to single men to try different things and be open, i realized they may not be educated about that thing enough, to do it without offending anyone. I mean, I think I find that power dynamics and history matter in some cases inside to me when they are non-muslims especially. Especialy if the person is ignorant then I think she shouldn't be wearing that she just thinks it's cool, but not us. |
