| From the Daily Telegraph. Very sad. One wonders how our dawah in the West will get anywhere while some people have this attitude. Did I tell you that a friend of my wife's started wearing hijab here (in the USA) just recently after living in Pakistan most of her life ? No-one told her to wear it, she was just impressed by the fact that a lot of the sisters she met seemed to have no trouble with it. Wonder if she would have taken it up if she had read this story ? A DEADLINE set by Islamic rebels in Kashmir for Muslim women to start wearing veils or face acid attacks passed last night, and non-Muslim women were ordered to dress distinctively or face a similar fate. The little-known Lashkar-e-Jabbar group has decreed that Muslim women must wear yashmaks or the head-to-toe cloaks called burqas. It said Hindu women should wear the bindi dot on their foreheads, and Sikhs should cover their heads with saffron-coloured wraps. It also specified that Muslim men must have beards and wear the baggy salwar trousers and long shirts, in keeping with tradition. The group told newspapers in Srinagar, summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir state: "For the implementation of the order on Muslim women, it is necessary to differentiate between Muslims and non-Muslims." About 50,000 Hindus and 80,000 Sikhs live in the Kashmir Valley. More than 300,000 Hindus have fled since the civil war for a Muslim homeland erupted in 1989, claiming more than 35,000 lives. The dress code is similar to that in an order issued by Afghanistan's Taliban rulers three months ago making it mandatory for non-Muslim minorities to wear identification badges when they go outdoors. Tailors in Srinagar have been stockpiling veils and cloaks since rebels sprayed two women with sulphuric acid last month for not covering their faces. Earlier this year two teenagers were shot dead in Srinagar for wearing trousers, and beauty salons were attacked for being "un-Islamic". Ghulam Ahmed, a tailor, said: "Since the inception of Kashmir's insurgency 12 years ago I have never seen such a demand for veils and cloaks." |

| Assalaamu-alaikum Its sad isnt it that muslims behave like this? Its disgraceful. These men are women abusing, women controlling freaks. What they do has NO basis in Islaam, since when can you throw acid on a women for not wearing the Veil? Since when can you shoot dead the girl for wearing trousers? These people are *THE* fanatics, its THEM who give islaam a bad name, its THEM who we muslims should eradicate, by whatever means, as long as thier islaamic. Who knows what these fools get upto in thier spare time, probably have a large selection of pronographic videos. Fools. I was glad to hear that the Major Mujaahideen groups in Kashmir immediatly distanced themselves from these fools, saying they had no place in islaam for thier actions. Maashallah at least these guys know the score! I have seen Kashmiri pirs over here, listened to the things they say, and i aint surprised one bit to see this happening in Kashmir! What are WE, the rest of the Ummah gona do about it? Nothing! Whats the point of us figting the hindu's for a muslim state when in fact we have such barbaric animals amongst us? We gota get rid of these cowards and animals first, THAN worry about the indian army. |

| Just show me some proof that is was an Islamic group. How do you know that it was not caused by the Indian Special Operation services to create fitnah an discord within the ummah. Don't believe everything that comes across, there are groups out there in the world whos purpose is to carry out such evil acts in the name of Islam. And Brother Mujahid your generalisation that they may be watching indecent movies in their spare time, c'mon man what language is that :( |

| Bro thier is proof it IS an "islaamic" group. I have just shockingly read that a few high profile Mujaahiddeen groups have openly supported this group! This is seriosuly worrying! How are we supposed to ever win a Jhad, when the same Mujaahideen behave in this way? Astagfirallah :( Shame on these women abusing cowards. |
