There are sites that have muslim names.  Or baby name sites, that ask what type of a name you are looking for, such as a female name, Muslim, Arabic, Traditional, Modern.

Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah

Is your family expecting a baby girl?
Strange coincidence, my cousin just had a baby girl this morning!!!
Life and death happens all around us, masha'Allah.  I was just searching for some names for her, since nothing has been officially decided, so I took it upon myself to help out, ie, name someone for once, insha'Allah.  I know I know, the father (and mother) has some role in that, of couse they'd get to choose from *my* list, tee hee.
Some info can be found at (I haven't read all of this yet, so take the good from it):
http://www.uh.edu/campus/msa/articles/new/newborn.html

And now from Jannah's sister's website repertoire, what I could find that would flow with her last name in 10 minutes or less:

Aneesa = friendly
Asma = Abu Bakr's (ra) daughter's name
Faizah = victorious
Fareeha = joyful
Fatima = Prophet Muhammad's (saws) daughter's name
Hafsa = Omar's (ra) daughter's name
Nafeesa = precious
Saleema = safe, whole, healthy (also a madinah board member's name)
Sumaiyya = one of the first martyrs of Islam, Ammar's mother
Zahra = flower
Zaineb = Prophet Muhammad's (saws) daughter's name

etcetcetc
The whole list is found at:

wa alaykum as salaam wa rahmatAllah,

May Allah bless you with a healthy child that will grow up and contribute beneficially to the ummah -- and make dua for you :)

[url=http://www.jannah.org/cgi-bin/yabb/YaBB.pl/YaBB.pl?board=madrasa&action=display&num=2808&start=0]Here[/url] is a thread that somehow turned into a discussion of baby names.

Me personally, when it comes to girls names -- I *really* dislike names that mean like "smooth", "soft", "fragrant", "big-eyed", "gazelle-like", etc.. like Ghaneema [spoil of war]? Lama [darkness of lips]? Lameesa [soft to the touch]!? ???

I'm sure though that you'll choose a beautiful name that has a deep and beautiful meaning as well, inshaAllah.  Let us know what you and your wife decide! :)

wasalaamu alaykum.

As salamu alaykum

I think that Kawthar (river in paradise) is a beautiful name.  I would hope that such a name would always inspire my daughter to be the best Muslim that she can be.
Insha'Allah your daughter will bring you and your wife much joy and will follow the path of Islam.

As salamu alaykum

Assalamu alaikum

How about:

Azeeza = Esteemed; Precious; Cherished

Inaam = Act of kindness; Benefaction; Bestowal

Sana = Resplendence; Brilliance

Inayah = Concern.

Ermina =  Friendly

Tasnim = Fountain of paradise.

Zaidah = She was a very devoted worshipper about whose worship the Prophet (S.A.W) also learnt; she was the freed slave of Sayyidina Umar bin al-Khattab.

Fari'ah  or Furayah = the name of a female companion, daughter of Maalik bin sanan al-Ansari and sister of Abu Saeed al-Khudri. She was called by either name.

Yusayrah = Easy. One of the first two swear allegiance (bayah) to the Prophet (S.A.W) among the Ansar (but it is also said that she was among the Muhajirs (Emigrants).

Please tell us what you decide to call the baby :)

salaamz.

congtrats to whoevers having the kid! :)

ok..the first name I would recommend is Zakira! :) which, by the way, comes from the word 'dhikr' which means remembrance of Allah...but my teacher..who's incidentally Arab..said it literally means 'memory'!

hmmm, some other names could be Hafsa, Jannah, Atiyya, Aqsa, Laila, Ayesha, Zahra, Amara, Salwa etc etc...i dunno what most of 'em mean but i like 'em :)

Good luck!
Wassalaam
zakira ;-D
