What should the Muslim world do?

Salaamun Alaikum,

I just want to pose a question. If it is Bin Laden and the Taliban who committed this atrocity, what should the Muslim world do (ie Pakistan, Iran, UAE, Lebanon, Saudi, Jordan, Egypt, etc)? Should we help the United States in capturing these terrorists?

And if it isn't Bin Laden or the Taliban what should we do? As we all know there is no solid evidence. Bin Laden is still a "suspect." Nevertheless he still commited the other attacks on the embassies. But my question is what we should do (esp. Pak. and Iran)?

*How* do you know that he committed those attacks on the embassies? Where is your evidence? Did the US goverment provide you with it? Because it would help the Taliban a lot if they provided them with the same evidence so that they can prosecute Bin Laden.

There is substantial evidence but I don't feel like researching and starting a debate. Ok, lets say he wasn't involved. My question still is what should the other Muslim countries do? And if he is responsible then what should they do?

assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullah

I don't believe there is substantial evidence that b. Laden was involved in this. The Taliban being the Lions they are have taken a very principled stand, one which the Qur'an teaches: bring forth your proof if you speak the truth.

The Americans failed to bring evidence showing b. Laden's hand in the embassy bombings and i'm sure it will be the same this time too. And the Taliban are absolutely correct in not handing over a Muslim to the disbelievers for judgment.

Without any daleel presented we can't ridicule any muslim. Osama fought jihad against the russians and has stated again he didn't carry out the attacks. I believe the word of a mujahid more than that of lying americans.

Pakistan's delegation is on its way to Afghanistan to demand his handover. Afghanistan is most likely to ask for evidence implicating him - that is the right thing to do and the example all our nations should follow. I salute them (afghanistan)for holding out upto now until they have daleel. Guilty or not guilty, without daleel we will shoulder sin for handing over a muslim brother. Tony Blair did say today they will present evidence once the investigation is done. Lets see if they stick to their word.

If proven guilty he should be tried in an islamic court in afghanistan, afterall his crime(planning etc) would have been commited in afghan territory. The actual crime(hijacking) was committed by others so he shouldn't be handed over to the US. Does the actual islamic ruling work like that?? Please correct me.

wa alaykum as salaam wa rahmatAllah,

We condemn the attack on the WTC because it was a senseless, indiscriminate killing of innocent children, women and men.  Even if the perpetrators of the attack were acting out in response to terrorism and aggression in their own homeland, facilitated by the American government (as is the case of the Palestinians, who have suffered through an apartheid in the Middle East for the past 53 years, funded by the American government's support of Israel) this attack was in gross violation of Islam and it's teachings.  Islam is a deen that commands justice, even in response to aggression, even if it's against our own selves.  The verse in the Qur'an says, let not their hatred for you swerve you to do wrong and make you depart from justice.  Each of the individuals who have perpetrated this act will stand before Allah and be held accountable for every life they have taken, and they will be dealt with on that day in absolute justice by Al Adl.

In the same way, we are against the senseless and indiscriminate killing of innocent children, women, and men, that would come from bombing or attacking a country.. even one that supposedly houses a suspect that at best has some inadequate and obviously faked evidence against him.  This is terrorism, wholesale murder, on a scale much larger than the bombings in the United States.

We should be ashamed of Muslim countries that are willing to faciliate America's intended terrorism of Muslims.. who fear the United States more than they do God, willing to assist and befriend a country about to commit indiscriminate murder of a people guilty of nothing.

What should the Muslim world do?  I don't know.  I know what they *shouldn't* do.  They shouldn't bow their heads in submission to a country bent on revenge for their own self-preservation or financial gain.  It shames and shocks me that their are lands that profess themselves Muslim that are willing to stand before Allah on the Day of Judgement with Muslim blood on their hands, who will share the blame in the sick acts the kuffaar and people of sharr are going to commit.

I walk around in a daze, sick to my stomach, disbelieving of the world that I live in, the things I've experienced in the past few days, the things I've seen and heard.  I truly feel the end of time is coming.

There is indeed, no strength nor power save by Allah.  I take solace in knowing that everything that happens is within the knowledge and decree of Allah, that Allah does not leave us alone to say that we believe without testing us with difficulty and trial, and that victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and ease with hardship.

I agree with all of your posts and opinions. I think there should be no retaliation without any solid evidence. But we all know for fact that Taliban have commited atrocities, face it no one if perfect, but they have. We can get into a debate but thats not the point. There are actual photos of the murders and massacres they commited. Being Shia its very depressing, but thats beyond the point.

We all know Bin Laden congratulated the people who did the WTC attack. That is a fact. Isn't that wrong? He basically said it was ok. Lets go back and look at Iran. As we all know Iran is a predominatly Shia country how do you expect them to help the Taliban, which are clearly anti Shia? I don't think there can be real unity in defending the Taliban regime.

But, i really think the US should do a full investigation before they do any retaliation. I think all nations including Muslim ones should all investigate so its not just the FBI! I truely think its a set-up. Any terrorist would actually boast about the attack, not deny it. The case just doesn't seem right, too many mistakes, etc. Whatever it is we must have faith in Allah. Allah is the protector and we all should make du'a and the truth will stand out. If i hurt anyone, please forgive me. This is just my view. May ALlah protect us all.

Forget the Muslim world, there is no Muslim world Bro.
Look at what you can do and the first thing is for me and you is to:

1) is to make sincere repentance

2) remember death more often

3) love the world less and all its materlistic crap

4) talk less, do more ibadat, eat less, sleep less

5) look at the character of the prophet saws, and use that as an example, for our dailiy life.

And don't be afriad of what is to come, only GOOD will come.

Allah does not change a peoples condition until they want a change themselves.

As far as I know there hasn't been any proof showing that Osama bin Ladin was involved in any terrorist activities, weather it was an embassy or the WTC.

The Taliban have been doing a good job, alhumdullilah of trying to implement Islam in their country, and there have been extensive discussions on this in the past on this board.  This is a time when all Muslims should stand united and not form coalitions with non-Muslims to attack innocent Muslim civillians.

Of course the criminals of this heinous crime at the WTC should be punished and dealt with.
