| Assalamu Alaikum Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh Reproduced below is a letter that appears in today's (17 Sep 2001) issue of the [i]Arab News[/i], Saudi Arabia: Gaza in Manhattan Gaza and Jenin and Nablus and Rarnallah and Beit Jalla have come to lower Manhattan. I mourn the dead and grieve for bereaved families in New York just as I mourn the dead and grieve for the bereaved in Occupied Palestine. When I see the rubble of the World Trade Center, I see also the rubble of the countless buildings in occupied Palestine razed by the Israelis using their American weapons. I wonder how many Americans have understood the connection between the tragedy in New York and the tragedy of Palestine. Will the American widow now understand how the Palestinian widow feels? Will the bereaved American now empathize with the grief of the bereaved Palestinian mother when she sees the shattered body of her son, killed by America's proxy, Israel? Most important, will the Americans understand that as long as they support a neo-Nazi regime in the Middle East, so long will their cities and their planes be at risk? I doubt it.
