But give glad tidings to those who patiently persevere - those who say, when afflicted with calamity: "To Allah We belong, and to Him is our return." They are those on whom descend blessings from their Lord, and Mercy, and they are the ones that receive guidance. (al-Baqara, 155-157) You shall certainly be tried and tested in your possessions, and in your personal selves; and you shall certainly hear much that will grieve you, from those who received the book before you and from those who worship partners besides Allah. But if you persevere patiently, and guard against evil - then that will be of great resolution. (Ali' Imran, ayah 186) Do people think that they will be left alone to say, "We believe", and that they will not be tested? We did test those before them, and Allah will certainly know those who are true from those who are false. (al-Ankaboot, ayah 2-3) O My servants who believe! Truly, spacious is My earth; therefore worship Me, and Me alone. Every soul shall have a taste of death: in the end to Us shall you be brought back. But those who believe and work deeds of righteousness, to them shall We give a home in Jannah: mansions beneath which flow rivers - to live therein forever. An excellent reward for those who do good - for those who persevere in patience, and put their trust in their Lord and Cherisher. (al-Ankaboot, 56-59) ...Pray for help from Allah, and wait in patience and constancy: for the earth is Allah's, to give as a heritage to such of His servants as He pleases; and the end is best for those who do good. (al-Aa'raaf, 128) O you who believe! persevere in patience and constancy; vie in such perseverance; strengthen each other; and fear Allah. that you may prosper. (al-I'mran, 200) ..nor can a soul die except by Allah's leave, the term being fixed as by writing. If any do desire a reward in this life, We shall give it to him; and if any do desire a reward in the Hereafter, We shall give it to him. And swiftly shall We reward those that serve us with gratitude. How many of the prophets fought in Allah's way, and with them fought large bands of God-fearing people? But they never lost heart if they met with disaster in Allah's way, nor did they weaken in will nor give in. And Allah loves those who are firm and steadfast. All that they said was: "Our Lord! Forgive us our sins and anything we may have done that transgressed our duty: Establish our feet firmly, and help us against those that resist Faith." And Allah gave them a reward in this world, and the excellent reward of the Hereafter. For Allah loves those who do good. (ali'-Imran, 145-148) Hadeeth Be mindful of Allah, you will find Him before you. Get to know Allah in prosperity and He will know you in adversity. Know that what has passed you by was not going to befall you and that what has befallen you was not going to pass you by. And know that victory comes with patience, relief with affliction, and ease with hardship. Be mindful of Allah, and Allah will protect you. Be mindful of Allah, and you will find Him in front of you. If you ask, ask of Allah; if you seek help, seek help of Allah. Know that if an entire nation were to to gather together to benefit you with anything, it would benefit you only with something that Allah had already prescribed for you. And that if they gather together to harm you with anything, they would harm you only with something Allah had already prescribed for you. The pens have been lifted and the pages have dried. [Tirmidhi] Whenever Allah wants good for a person, He subjects him to adversity. [Bukhari] A muslim is not afflicted by hardship, sickness, sadness, worry, harm, or depression - even if pricked by a thorn, but Allah forgives his sins because of that. [Bukhari and Muslim] ... One is afflicted (with difficulties and tests) in accordance with his deen. If his deen is firm, his affliction is made harder, and if his deen is weak, his affliction is made lighter. A believer continues to be subjected to adversity until he walks on the surface of the earth without a sin. |
