Can anyone please help me to find a hadeeth or any other referrence which mandates female circumsition. Was this a pratice of Pre-Islamic people???? Salaams!!! |

slm there is no such thing as "female circumcison" since females don't have a foreskin. What you are referring to is female genital mutilation, which is a cultural practice and nothing to do with Islam. wasalaam eleanor |

As salamu alaykum Female circumcision is discussed in Reliance of the Travel, which follows the Shafi'i school of Islamic law. It has been translated by Nuh Ha Mim Keller. I have also seen a hadith. You might want to check one of the hadith databases on the web. As salamu alaykum Marcie |
