Imam Siraj was at our local Islamic center for a good lecture. Here are some of the things he said, as i was told by my sister..

"When you have a car going at full speed down a steep mountain, and the driver of the car is drunk and blind, and you name him "Abdullah" then this is what happenned, how can they blame a person who is drunk and blind on a car that he has no control over"

"These are the most difficult times for the leaders of American Muslims, how to steer the Muslims here safely and without any trouble through these difficult times"

"What you saw on CBS 60 minutes wasn't how long we were interviewed, we were interviewed for 3 hours! and all they showed was 60 seconds, We told them the injustices of American policy and everything, but they picked up what they wanted, For 3 hours they asked us everything and we were caught! (kinda fooled) "

"When the terrorist attack happened i thought on that dreadful night that we Muslims have gone 100 years back, but next morning in our Masjid Taqwa there were 3 shahadas, 96th street masjid had 8 shahadas and many more from other masajids, that is when i realized how weak human being is"

It would have been nice to hear what Imam Siraj Wahaj had to say.  Did he talk about more of the questions asked and the answers he gave?

bro..arsalan. yep i agree i had a hard time understanding the assertion too, but here it how my sis' kid helped me (he listened to his speech infact the lil 11 year old was so excited about this excerpt, that he kept repeating it :))

wat he said was that US creates such conditions for people that they have no control over their car running down the steep mountain, and they are forced into such a situation that the car crash is inevitable. he was pointing to the opression of US government on ppl that forces them to hate them in the worst possible way.

and bro arshad..about

he said they talked for three hours on everything, and Shaykh Hamza , and the panel talked about the oppression of US government, what islam is all about and the policies of US that create resentment and what islam says about everything. We can all imagine how deep this discussion would have been. But they cut the thing and focused on what suited them, Imam Siraj even said that we were fooled and next time we will be careful, it was only 60 seconds, not even 60 minutes!!!
