| SALAM!!! i am involved in this committee at my school S. T. A. R. inshallh i would like to implement a program where we adopt children in 3rd world contries...... then i though if 4 example we use Christian Children;s fund we are promoting Christinaity i def dont want that right? what r other organization that i can use to adopt MUSLIM kids like IDRF or others organizations.... i was thinking i could use the excuse that we should help the children in AFghanistan and Iraq because of the current global situation somehting like that.... so i may be able to swing it....othrwise i dunno is it bad for me to adopt and promote christinaty as well as mulim kids by using a couple of ddiff organizations or incl.udin those that promote other religions that ISLAM i want to bring it up a meeting in a few weeks...not yet but inshallah soon... .like a "holiday" event...hey whateva works right!! thanks in advance and waslam jazakallah khair Haseeba |

| [slm] when u say adopt, do you mean sponsor the child ie. give some money for them every month? thats a really good idea, perhaps you should investigate other organisations that have similar programs but do not promote religion, just the welfare of the children. I haven't looked into it myself, perhaps someone else on the board knows of such organisations. If you wanted to set up an organisation yourself, you could also approach organisations such as Red Crescent (i think thats the islamic version of red cross) and work with them. wasalaam, Ahmed |

| thanks yeah i wanna go with a "no religion" because pushing the muslim thing maybe difficuly...i go to a maj. white school i am gonna try the islamic organization idea first thanks again |
