At least six Shia Muslims were killed and more than eight injured Thursday when Wahabi terrorists opened fire on a Shiite mosque in Karachi, police said.

According to the details, Wahabi terrorists belonging to the Sipah e Sahab, opened fire at Shia Muslims who were offereing Maghrib (Evening) prayers, in Imambargah Ali Murtaza Mosque in a populous area of Mehmood Abad, Karachi.

The martyrs were in prostration when the Wahabis opened fire, killing six and injuring more than eight.

Those killed in the firing included two children below 13 years of age. The injured, who were rushed to the JPMC for treatment, also included four children.

Five people died on the spot and another critically injured in the firing died later in hospital, police said. "It was sectarian violence," local police chief Majid Dasti told reporters.

Names of the six martyrs:

Waseem s/o Saeed - Age 7

(Pesh -Namaz )Muhammed Gulam Rasul

Fazan Raza s/o Nasir Raza - Age 17

Muhammad Raza Zaidi - Age 83

Gulzar Hasan s/o Barkat Hasan - Age 28

Irasad Hasan s/o Gulzar Hasan - Age10

The injured were Talib Hussain, his two sons Iftikhar Husain, 20, and Ghaffar Husain, 11; Haji Azhar Hussain, his son Naeem Abbas, 10; Sibtain Raza, 5; Naseem Abbas, 7; and Mohsin Ali.

A man, crying over the death of his relative, shouted at the police deputed at the emergency gate of the hospital, saying: "Why are you standing here blocking the way of patients? Why were you not at the scene when terrorists were firing at innocent people?"

At the emergency ward of the hospital, loud cries and wails of the deceased's near and dear ones rent the air. An injured Haji Azhar Hussain said: "We were offering prayers and all of a sudden, intense firing began and then I don't know what followed."

Zahoor Hussain, owner of a general store, located some 100 yards from the Imambargah told reporters that the area plunged into darkness at around 7:45pm and the incident took place at around 7:55pm. "Suddenly I heard a deafening sound and I assumed there might have been an explosion in PMT or an electricity wire snapped. But when people started making a hue and cry, I came to know it was a firing incident."

The power supply was restored just after the incident, he added. He said he closed his shop and reached the spot where people, whose clothes were soaked with blood, were being taken away in ambulances. The area people said two policemen were deputed at the Imambargah but at the time of the incident, none was present.

The Wahabi sect is being sponsored by Saudi Arabia and other Wahabi countries. Pakistan's ISI has also played a vital role in training these terrorists in camps located in Afghainstan. Osama Bin Laden, the Taliban and the Saudi government follow the same Wahabi school of thought which has always encouraged the massacres of Shia Muslims.

The two Wahabi organisations supported and sponsored, by the ISI in Pakistan, are Sipah e Sahaba and Lashkar e Jhangavi. Both these groups have been trained in Afghanistan by the Pakistani ISI and the Taliban. The Pakistani ISI has many Wahabi extremists within its ranks, who since the time of General Zia ul Haq have been sponsoring the ethnic cleansing of Shia Muslims in Pakistan and Afghanistan.

Hundreds of Shia Musims have been killed in the state sponsored ethnic cleansing in Pakistan. The Pakistan government has time and again assured the safety of Shia Muslims but it is helpless when it comes to the ISI and its Wahabi ranks.

I don't think so Bro. Wahbis are no longer around in Saudia. They are either in jail or are banned. If Wahabis were around in saudi perhaps it would be slightly better. Who knows only Allah.

The Saudi's follow Imam Ahmed bin Hanbal school of thought.

The Taliban follow the deobandi school of thought, not wahabi.

Haven't the Taliban got a peace agreement with Iran.?

And the massacres of Shia muslims ? I don't think so. There are other reasons to this killing and sad to say that money is a big influence in Pakistan. People can be popped for a couple of grand. Or at times of elections, violence prevails, a recent example is Bangladesh.

"To God we belong and to Him we shall return" May Allah have Mercy on these people. Ameen.

People are being so overly sensitive these days that I'm afraid to write what I'm about to, certainly it's going to infuriate some people and they will say that I'm giving bad dawah about Islam. I hope it doesn't get deleted before at least some people read it. The Muslims (some scholars included who have written articles and come on TV) are trying to find a scapegoat within the Muslims to blame all the problems of the Ummah on them and they seem to have found the perfect target: the Wahabis. Just like we don't want the non Muslims to label us, (I guess "us" means non-wahabis pretty soon in the future?), "Islamic" terrorists, or "fundadmentalist" Muslims, or "Extremist" Muslims; I'm sure the thousands of our innocent Wahabi brothers and sisters don't want to be labeled as "terrorist" Wahabis, "extemist" Wahabis and what not.

But when well respected Scholars start doing it, I guess who can blame the masses of people?

The article conveniantely forgets to mention rival Shia gangs who do the same thing to Sunnis. Or terrorist organizations...whichever word suits whoever.

Sorry if i offended anyone but I simply just copied and pasted. We can discuss the wahabi movement in detail (in private) if you will like and look into history of what they did and what they preach but I think it'll get out of control for a public forum like this. And Brother/Sister Shahwar I have documented proof of the Shia ethnic cleansing happening in Pakistan and yes there is some retaliation but what do you expect? Nevertheless.. the point of the article was to show that if we can't unite how are we going to fight together? Think about it...

Brother Hanaf is correct, alhumdullilah.  People that use this term wahhabi are just slandering other Muslims and much of this has to do with ignorance and the agenda of certain groups.

This thread is now closed.  If anyone wants to discuss any of those groups they can message me privately and insha'Allah I can discuss it with them in detail.  I have dealt with many groups over the past few years and have many books in detail about different groups and problems with many of them.
