| assalaamu alaikum A group has been set up on yahoo groups to provide some information on the Taliban that is usually sived out by the major media outlets. Its been setup more or less in response to sister Eleanor's request to want to know a bit more about the Taliban, who they are, where they come from, the state of Afghanistan, etc. Anyone who wants to subscribe can send a blank e-mail to: taliban_info-subscribe@yahoogroups.com and they'll be added or you can message me and i'll add you myself. The messages will be archived and insha'allah made public, and i'd like adivce on whether the list should approve messages instantly or should require approval. Kashif Wa Salaam |

| slm, i believe they would be better off pending approval due to the subject of the list.. its just generally a good idea, especially if its open to the public.. it could get out of control.. on the other hand it will take a lot of time to moderate it, but it will be worth the effort. :) |

| slm I was in the process of starting up a group myself on another topic and was wondering, is it possible to make some members (that you trust) have access to post without approval and other people be moderated? ??? |

Otherwise it can run into a bit of a problem, especially due to changes in Brit law. Another thing you can manage all of this by using a dedicated Web Site board if yo got to http://www.phpnuke.com/ and http://www.shokroket.com/ to see what I mean. A simple site mangement system. A couple of admin guys, you and bhaloo in control, man the site would be rolling and rocking. If you go to www.f2s.com you'll have your site there for free, you get 10 megs and a PHP database thrown in for free. And who knows b4 Sis Jannah comes back most of us might have jumped ship and gone over somewhere else ! I doubt it. Count me in Akhi. Afghanistan is the land of Islam(Yusuf Islam) |
