1). So brothers what is your ideal job?

I would love to be in the Armed forces, when I was small I used to dream of being in the British SAS. How sad eh :).  Then as time grew on I had a little more understanding that joing the Army might not be the best option deeny wise.

But I still get a thrill of watching Rambo, Chuck Norris, Jackie Chan etc etc, I know its sad but I love all the milipary stuff. I even love playing games like Half-Life Opposing Force man what a game and a half.

And after I've come back from a session of Paintball, I'm the happiest man where I live. I love the game, all the action and running, pure adrenalin. I'm into physical stuff big time, all this outdoor pursuits man, just my cup of tea.

2). What job are you doing/will end up doing?

Good old IT, Systems Implementor. I find it very easy. Consultant in nx two years.

3). In the next 10 years what kind of job do you see yourself doing?

More charity work and helping countries re-build internal structure. I had my eyes set on Afghanistan(The land Of Islam) but its a different story now. Maybe Sudan. Maybe even a physcial instructor.insha-allah.

Bro Hanif I had no idea you were into those things, you had me fooled when you said you were into tiddleywinks. ;)

So you've played half-life?  I've played it before but Unreal Tournament and Quake 3 are much better.  They are a lot of fun.

1). My ideal job would be a shooting guard for the Los Angeles Lakers, and my dream would be to shut down Iverson completely in a game  (hey it could happen) :)

2). I'm a Computer Programmer, I deal with embedded systems with RTOS.

3). More of the same thing.

well its always tough deciding between thought provoking Tiddlywinks or lightning fast reactions for playing Quake 3. But if your up to the challenge one day we could have a go on a European server.

And no Bhallo I'm on about Quake 3 not your favorite game Tiddlywinks. :).

Also into AOE2(Thats Age of Empires 2) for all you people. Thats a game and a half.

I prefer Starcraft over AOE2. ;)  But I'm really into Unreal Tournament.

sounds like a lot of monkey business. :)  I always felt sorry for the animals locked away in their cages having to put up with people that banged on their cages or made funny faces.  They should have a place to roam about.  Also zoos are usually very smelly, its hard to clean up after the animals.

I set my dreams rather low and didn't say I would shut down the best player in the league, Shaquille O'Neal or even Kobe or Tim Duncan. Now that would be real dreamin.

One day, perhaps b4 Ramzan, we could hook up and give it a shot. Announce it in the Madinah, best man or woman to win gets a prize.
However, I don't like campers on those games, I'll 'Smoke U Out' Bro, be careful ;).

The way I would describe my game playing skills would be "kamikaze".  I'm no camper.  Guns drawn and shooting like a lunatic.  ;)

Assalam-u-Alaikum,

Dream job?  I'm aiming myself, with your dua's Insha-Allah, to become a specialist in some field in medicine and work in a place like Saudi Arabia or Dubai.  Right now I have no intention of coming to the west for anything but education.  I'd lie if I said I wasn't looking for some good pay.  It depends on the conditions Allah (AWJ) puts in my life but it would a great honor for me to go work with some Muslim NGOs (GRF?) to go to places like Ethiopia, Afgahnistan and of course Pakistan itself.

I had my first intro to this SAS thing through the game Hidden and Dangerous where you had to be exactly as it is in the title.  It's an amazing (but now old) game which you can get for free from www.freeloader.com. Thats not a demo btw.  Just make sure you don't have directx 8.1 installed and that you dont get addicted easy.

Sorry Bhaloo mian but I don't think much of any multi game compares to Team Fortress Classic.  I've yet to try Counterstrike.  I admit that I havent played UT and Q3 online but the single player seems to get worn out fast compared to TFC.  I've played only the demos though and think that UT is superior to Q3.  No games have given me an adrenaline rush like these and I didn't have a drier mouth in any game like System Shock 2 (i regret playing it now due to the shirk storyline).  But hands down Half-Life is still the best game on the planet.

Wassalam-u-Alaikum,
Uzer
1). So brothers what is your ideal job?
Don't know if it's an ideal job but I've been toying with the idea of opening up a "halal delicatessen" type place.  I'm getting fed up with only getting Asian food in halal butchers.  I want somewhere I can get some halal chicken kievs, roast beef, steak pies, etc.  Do any other reverts hear what I'm saying?  Or, as I suspect, am I on my own here?
2). What job are you doing/will end up doing?
Well, funny you should mention this but I'm in the process of changing jobs now.  Thanks to the Grace of Allah I have recently been offered a new job!!  Still a lawyer but in-house now.  Much nicer!

Man I've always wanted to be a Fighter Pilot - top gun style. I love military aviation, got loads of magazines, models, flight sims and its still my ultimate dream. The closest i get are flight sims but did once get to fly on a Boeing 737 simulator. The thrill of being strapped into your seat, flying and seeking out your enemy whether on the ground or moreso in the air with prospects of deadly dogfights looming is awesome. Phwoar! And all this with multi millions dollars of lethal hardware at your disposal! It embodies both physical and psychological strength and the slightest lapse in either could mean certain death. The adrenaline rush is just amazing.

Oh another job I'd love to do is be in the army Special Forces, or more specifically a Sniper. A ghost to the enemy, you pick them out one by one, take them out and disappear into the landscape while they look on with fear. Killing your enemy while they can't see you and sending chaos and confusion into their formations must be a great feeling ;)

As you can see, I'm very much a military man 8-)

Changes every week :P

This week, it's to be a teacher and counselor for the children in Palestinian refugee camps.  (Can you imagine what state their hearts and minds must be in after everything they're forced to endure?)

Another.. lawyer working for CAIR or other org's working for Muslim rights

Another.. daawa full time, being a PR rep for a Muslim organization in the US, speaking on public forums.  This means being articulate, knowledgeable, and charismatic enough to give a good image of Islam, and to give people the correct impression of it's teachings and nature.

Another.. Islamic studies professor at a pro-zionist university (like the one I attend)

Another.. working for an Islamic relief organization

Another.. counselor at a Muslim Family Services, working with victims of domestic/child abuse

Another.. full time hacker taking down missionary and anti-islamic sites, channeling money from evil org's to those that work for good

Another.. author/journalist

Another.. opening up a daawa services building, where people can just walk in and get hooked up with Islamic resources, talk to trained people about any questions they might have.. maybe a 1-800 number :)

and there are more :)
2). What job are you doing/will end up doing?
I'm double majoring in english and psychology (I think, I haven't declared anything yet) and will most likely be going for a masters in education, inshaAllah.
3). In the next 10 years what kind of job do you see yourself doing?
Ten years!  That's a long time away..

I think I'd be a good teacher for the little ones :)  Of course, my own little ones might be in the picture too :)

But.. Allah alone knows what is decreed for me.

take care :)

wasalaamu alaykum.

ps - br haaris if you open a delicatessen like that, I'd come :) you don't have to be a revert to enjoy good food :P

pps - ;-) it's great to see you on :)

I am with Se7en on this one...:) Sister speaks :-) Well, mine changes too, everyday, depending on circumstances...But of lately, I have been really considering (started application process Inshaallah) to attend the Islamic International University of Malaysia...and study comparative religions...Mashaallah, they have an awesome program!!!! If Allah Wills, the doors to what I "could" potentially do with such added skills, will be tremendous...
