| Assalamu alaikum, From what I understand, the fact that the towers seemed to implode is due to the manner of their construction and the heat of the fire caused by the explosion of the two planes. The supports on the edges of the buildings would have melted, causing the upper floors to collapse onto the lower ones, and thereby imploding the buildings. Until there is proof that traces of the dynamite necessary to implode the buildings actually exists on the site of the World Trade Center, I am inclined to believe this story. As for the rest of the web page that Jenna cited, I feel uncomfortable at this point attributing such horrible acts to anyone in particular, or even implying anyone's guilt. In other posts, people have complained about the American government's attack on Afghanistan without giving proof of bin Laden's or the Taliban's guilt or even involvement in the events of Sept. 11th -- I'm not sure that we aren't committing the same error when we try to present theories opposing that espoused by President Bush and most of the Western world. I cannot blindly believe in either theory. Without knowledge, I feel lost; however, I prefer this feeling of emptiness to any kind of satisfaction that could arise from finding a scape goat and possibly accusing someone in error. Allah knows who is guilty, and in that I find hope. wassalam |
