Bismillah and salam,
Oh it is sooo easy. Here is the recipe:

make with love
2 cups semonmlina
1 cup sugar
1 cup yogurt
1/2 cupt oil
2/3 cup water
1 teaspoon baking powerder
1/2 teaspoon the sodium baking one
1/4 cup almonds peel them
and syrup:
melt the 4 cups sugar in the 4 cups water. place over medium heat, stir from time to time until boiling, add lemon about 1 spoon. put a few saffron twiggies in there. let simmer for until it thickens. add 1 spoon rose water 1 spoon the orange leaf water. (this last two spoons are optional but i sure like them)

sift all the dry ingredients together, then add the oil, then yogurt then the water mix well until it alllll smooth.
grease on oven-proof dish, pour in the batter and spread evenly, decoreate with the almonds (keep imagining later you will cut in diamond shaped pieces ok)
BAke in preheated oven until golden
remove form oven
pour cooled syrup
cut and serve and enjoy

As salamu alaykum Amatullah,

What temperature should we use?  How long do you think golden brown takes?  Jazakum Allah Khair

Salam,
4 cups of sugar may be too sweet for some ppl. When we make the syrup we usually use 2 cups of sugar and a couple of table spoons of honey with two cups of water and it is still quite sweet.

If you don't have rose water you can always use vanilla.

Bake it at 350

And I believe the semolina flour has to be of medium grain..not the fine or the coarse kind.
