| [slm] It's my second day here in Jannah and I'm enjoying it. Brothers and sisters have done a good job with this website and I want to congratulate them. I live in southern California and has been here for the past three and half years. I do programming+sysadmin for living. Any assistance needed for this site maintenance I'll be glad to volunteer Insh Allah. Even though I'm new to the site I had a net acquiantence with a couple of madinah netizens. It was in April of 98 when I was asked by the company I used to work for to take an assignment in southern California. I searched the web for masjid/islamic center in this place on the net and I didn't find any for the particular city (I did not know about islamic finder then). Those days I was going thru Huma's Islam page on albany.edu. And I thought maybe sister could help (I had no idea Albany was on eat cost then). I wrote her an email and promptly she replied. The information forwarded was from Br Arshad. Jazak Allah again you both for that. And it was after three and half years I some how remembered those days and I searched on google for Huma's page on Islam and for some weird reason the search engine best hit was jannah.org. Anw when I visited jannah.org I saw the familier mama list and kewl muslims. Reading some old posts I see people talking about the albany mafia.. Is there any southern california mafia? I want to join. I'm glad again to meet you all here. Sorry for my boring introduction. [slm] PS: I need to find a madinah signature. |

| Wa'alaikumussalam warahmatullah! Welcome to the Garden! Here... have a cuppa and smell some flowers while you spend more days here:) The Akhawat Cafe is just round the corner near the large Sycamore, where your can find quality discussions on women and where you can find a brother on the brink of shaheed.. and just beside the stream is where the brothers workout at the Ikhwan Healthclub where sisters always gatecrash and spice up that otherwise boring place... and let's not forget the Madrasah near the rose bushes where questions galore from sincere seekers of knowledge, inshaAllah. And the Ummah Community Centre is just across the waterfall where the issues of the world come to live... well, I gotta get back to work now.. maybe others can share other places in the Garden. | slm Jazak Allah - Thank you all for such a warm welcome, especially sr Barr for giving me a tour of this place. I already feel at home. I'm not well versed in Islamic affairs. So you may not find me posting much here. But I'm going to be around reading and learning Insh Allah. And when I do post information on Islamic matters please do very for correctness. I had read some posts about WWTBM contest. Looked like it was a big hit and much fun Masha Allah. Is any such contest going on in any rooms I'm not aware of? Please let me know. I want to participate Insh Allah. Sure I won't be any match to the veterans here :) Ma' salaam :) |
