| asalaamu alaikum, What can you do? Keep being who you are: a muslim. If they saw what kind of message you were trying to send, they would understand, but it seems that they don't see... | slm Hi Anne Marie, I thought the article was great! It is difficult dealing with non Muslim family members. Brother Abdullah (Anik) is a good one to talk about that with. I second his advice. Don't forget what you are and what you stand for. Allah has chosen you to see the truth and therefore you are blessed and very special. If your family start to see the light through you, then Allah is extending his mercy and love to them too. Don't give up Anne Marie. This is your jihad and you are privileged to be fighting it. | Sisters I haven't yet committed myself to Islam for personal reasons but I am working on this Jihad. Can I do that? I am a believer but I haven't reconciled with all the laws yet and that may take time, I don't want to declare I am muslim and then proceed to break the laws. I read my Jihad to Dr Jamal Badawi and he liked it and I read it to students at Dalhousie University Muslim Association and they liked it too they told me I am doing Dawah. |

I think what you wrote is beautiful too, mashaAllah :) You know... sometimes, silence is good... for, it is during silence that people think and ponder what they are beginning to see... and perhaps, try to grasp and reconcile things, inshaALlah. Allahua'lam, but perhaps, you can take this silence period with patience, stride and constant du'a for your family. You are a believer... but you haven't committed yourself to Islam... but isn't believing in something also indicates a commitment to the acknowledgement and recognition of it's truth? | Hi Again My family are talking to me again, I saw the newspaper and it edited my letter to say wars instead of W.A.R.S. so I wrote to the paper and asked for an apology. We shall see if they do. Thankyou for your encouragement and support I know where to come when I am ready to declare myself muslim, I am half way there now. Dear Brothers and Sisters I am a believer in Islam and as such I declare Holy W.A.R.S. on Poverty, Violence and Ignorance. Peaceful W.A.R.S. of course. W.A.R.S. stands for World Arising Responsibly and Spiritually. The weapons of choice are Education, Forgiveness , Tolerance, Consultation and Prayer and the ammunition of choice is The Holy Quran, The Holy Books of Christianity and Judaism supported by science. Some other weapons of choice are Patience, Accountability, Compassion and Action with Consultation. Our Allies in this are Christians, Jews and all non Muslims and Muslims alike. The best plan of attack is Leadership by good example with good behaviors and kindly words and actions towards all beings Muslim and non Muslim, this will educate draw non Muslims to Islam.
