NBA Season

The season started yesterday and it was beautiful.  At the end of last season the Lakers won and the Sixers lost.  The season began in the same fashion, Lakers winning and the Sixers losing. :) :) :)  San Antonio started off the season with a bang, beating the Clippers, and Orlando looked impressive in winning as well.

Jordan did ok in his debut also, but failed to hit the shot to tie the game and his team went on to lose.  He still seems rusty.

The Lakers completely dominated that game.  They're a truly fearful team that demand respect.  They played like the two-time champions that they are.

I think Jordan played ok.  I expect him to be rusty.  It's his first game in the NBA after a long break.  His team is horrible, but I saw some potential.  Just the fact that they were so close to winning the game is encouraging.  I think they will improve with time.  The only question is, how much patience does MJ have?  How many losses can he deal with before he snaps?  Pippen, after he left the Bulls, snapped after like 10 losses in Houston.  The rest of the season was a struggle for the whole team because of his attitude.  And then he left Houston and has *never* recovered since then.

slm,

I feel sorry for MJ :(

I also feel sorry for the Sixers.. :(

I don't know whats going on this season, but I am sure that once all of the 3495879435 inured members from the Sixers return to the team, all will be well, and they will once again dominate the east, and this year Insha'Allah, dominate the west as well ;-D  Don't get me wrong, we rattled the west plenty last year, but we couldn't dominate, but thats going to change, Insha'Allah.

But what do you guys think about some of the trades made this season??  I don't know, do you think the Sixers lost more than they gained??

Anyways, the Lakers beasted, good for them :)  They were at one time my favorite team you know...so I'm happy when they do good :)

Well take care,

Who watched the Wizards' game today?  Man, was that a beautiful game or what? :)  I'm not surprised at MJ scoring 30.  I knew that was going to happen (although some people probably didn't think so) eventually.  What I'm surprised at is how well Washington plays when Jordan is sitting at the bench.  I mean, granted, they're not nearly near the caliber where they need to be as a playoff team.  But considering how pathetic they were last year, they have improved alot.  They're feeding off of Jordan, he's making them a better team.  And that's what great players do.

As far as the trades, I think East is a lot stronger than it was last year.  Washington is better.  Magic are better.  Raptors are better.  Hawks are better.  Indiana is going to be better I think.  It was too lopsided last year.  The west completely dominated the east.  I think it'll be more fun this year because the East has gained alot more talent.

Sixers lost again.  They got humiliated last night by Michael Jordan and the Wizards.  All you Sixer fans out there, give it up, become a Lakers fan. ;)  It was nice to see Michael Jordan do well.

It depends.  For some members on here that support a losing team, the season could be over really quickly and they wont have any interest.  Others that support winning teams, can look forward to the season ending in May or the middle of June when the Lakers will win again, insha'Allah. :)

What do you guys think of the new rules?  Do you think its helped the NBA? ???

There were 2 fantastic games in the last 2 days.

First, yesterday the Lakers were losing to Milwaukee by 15 points, the Lakers stormed back and won by 19, and now have a 13-1 record, which is tops in the NBA.

Secondly, today Michael Joran and the Wizzards beatup the Sixers and Iverson.  It was classic, they shut down Iverson down the stretch.    :)

Two good games, hope the NBA fans saw it. :)

P.S. Is that guy Tyronne Lue a pain for AI or what!  The guy plays amazing defense on him!

Ok just a question to these NBA'ers, how many of you actually go to see a game ??? And how many of you wave your support flags from your sofas or from your bedroom TV ? I just wanna know who the real supporters are and who are the home TV supporters.

Bro. Hanif, Laker games are expensive, here is a break down of ticket prices.

http://www.nba.com/lakers/tickets/arena.html

All seats that cost more then $72 are the decent to good seats.  Any tickets cheaper then that and you can barely see the game.  I had the opportunity 2 years ago to see a Laker playoff game, sitting in the expensive red seats (those tickets had a face value of $150, and ticket dealers were selling them for at least twice that).  A friend of mine knew a ticket dealer and he couldn't sell them so he gave it to us for free. :)

So you can see that the games can be very expensive.

Bhaloo is right.  The only game I ever went to was a Houston Rockets regular season game against the Dallas Mavericks (in the 95-96 season).  I had courtside seats, courtesy of Br. Hakeem Olajuwon who gave away two tickets for the winners of an essay contest that our MYNA youth group carried out that year.  It was definitely a treat :)

P.S. Rockets were down by one point with 0.3 seconds left on the shot clock.  The ball was inbounded by someone (I don't remember) straight to Olajuwon in the paint, who scored.  Ball game.  Rockets win by 1 point!  The crowd (including me) went nuts, of course :)

That someone was the waaaay underrated Robert Horry.

Btw, just in case you were wondering, I'm not someone who goes around memorizing stupid stuff like this.  I was at the game with Arsalan losing my hearing for the week from all his shouting.

As salaam u 'alykum

I remembered that game...I was at some aunties house and I made her turn on the tv so I could watch the end...

Should have never traded for CB...Horry was gonna be a star with the Rockets.

I believe the darned Jazz ruined our hopes of killing them Bulls in the finals that year...
I believe the darned Jazz ruined our hopes of killing them Bulls in the finals that year...
True dat!

I seriously think the Rockets would have beaten the Bulls in the 97 Finals if they had gotten past the Jazz.  The Bulls always had all kinds of match-up problems with the Rockets.

Oh, the possibilities! :)

Wow...west coast is BEASTING...

I can't believe how bad Philly is doing...They're ranked right above the Wizards!!! :o :o  I feel sorry for Iverson.

Anyways....maybe things will pick up Insha'Allah.

Lakers are losing right now.  :(  I think their record will drop to 16-2, which is still the best in the league. :)

The east cost should rename thier league to, Amateur NBA League. ;)
